Yeah serious dutch oven if somebody lets rip and i've been a victim a few times but Grogans has the smell beaten into it. It's the natural odour of the place.

Got in to a bad habit in 1st lockdown of drinking at home more or less every night. Might only have 4 cans of IPA but was drinking far too often. So I knocked it on the head in August and haven't had a drink since. Have a non-alcoholic Heineken if I get the itch and it takes the edge off but really don't miss it.

It will be a different story when boozers are open again though. Very easy to stay off it when nobody is hassling you to go for a pint
I dont email the count anymore, its been 9 months : ( He even sent me a YBIG scarf for my Birthday

must say I did enjoy the couple of pints of Guinness outside in September/October.  Once a week no more than 4 was grand.

Will probably return to something like that when pubs open again.  Coincide it with a match or meeting a mate.

Would love if we could attend LOI games come March/April or GAA league games.  Have missed live sport, esp as I missed so much of it over the past 2 years anyway.

Have had four beers in the fridge for weeks now not touched.

Wouldn't be as bothered going into pubs as much if you can't sit at the bar (unless you're with a crowd).

smelliest pub in Dublin

The Jax are consistently Abraham Lincoln in Grogans. It’s like the McDonalds of toilet odour. You can trust it to smell the same irrespective of when you visit.

Honorable mention to Hartigans in this regard. It has nowhere near the same amount of human traffic but yet retains a pungent bang of urine in their Gents.

He headed in the next day dying of a hangover to see could he pick
It up and the auld one behind the bar was wearing it 😀😃

After work in town if I was in the mood i'd do The Confession Box, Briodys, The Sackville and finish of in The Flowing Tide. The odd time I might pop Madigans for the show. I was there one late afternoon and 2 local woman drinking away just next to us. At the table next to them were their kids doing their ecker, school books and copies spread over the table.

I’m desperate for a few pints in a small pub with mates, haven’t had a drink in 7 weeks and have been generally ok not drinking! Had a tough couple of weeks and would love to get out for a few, the social aspect is the most important part of it for me.
