His memory seems hazy, it all must have happened in a drunken haze, which to be fair would be serious going in Afghanistan

Tea with the Taliban, not what you'd expect on a sun holiday.
It would damage this forums' reputation

Lads any tips on decent places to eat in Westport.  Not for a big drinking session but good grub with a good chef in the kitchen and locally sourced ingredients possible.  Guys in Clifden is the reference point for a really good gastro pub.

Thanks

Heading to Galway on Sunday for a few nights, what beaches/coastal towns would you recommend visiting?

What direction is better for coastal scenery and a better drive, west of the city or south?

I'd head over to Aran islands for the day if you have time.

I think you can head over from approx 11 to 5pm

Well worth a visit if the weather is nice.
It was far across the sea,
When the devil got a hold of me,
He wouldn't set me free,
So he kept me soul for ransom.

Podge I was in connemara last week and the beaches near roundstone and balltconneely are stunning.  Particularly one right beside Connemara Golf Club.  Highly recommend it if the weather is good.

Clifden has a good few spots for eating out and having a drink.  Roundstone has O.dowds but you would need to.book  ahead
