There were Celtic rumours so obviously wanted to head that off.

"Tonight is his 1000th game as a manager, he joins a pretty select club in reaching the milestone.

Sam Allardyce, Carlo Ancelotti, Roy Hodgson, Neil Warnock and now you can add McCarthy to the list of managers currently batting at over 1000 not out.

McCarthy himself didn't know tonight was the night, but he forgot about the Anglo-Italian Cup games he managed Millwall in during the early 90s."

Hard to look past Barnsley being in the playoffs along with Reading and two from Brentford/Watford/Swansea.

Huge result today with Reading and Barnsley dropping points. They might just have the nerve to take their playoff challenge to the last day.

Setback for Swansea though. Effectively 4 points behind Watford when you take Watford's goal difference into account.

They have every chance really as Reading and Barnsley are overachieving. If the likes of them or Swansea actually do go up to the PL you could nearly have your life savings on them getting relegated they would all be run over. Cardiff wouldn’t be far behind them tbh.
