In the north the wishy washy excuse for a lockdown that they announced a few weeks ago comes to an end next Friday.
Down south and across the water have stricter lockdowns which is strange considering the rate per 1000 people is higher in the north than those areas

Personally, i see the following in place:
Pubs open = No in Dublin, outdoor only in rest of country
Restaurants Open = No indoors, outdoor only
Non-Essential retail open = Yes back open, guidance on click and collect as much as possible.
Travel = continue to remain as advice against non-essential
Household visits = One other household.

If the figures are the same for Dublin as the rest of the country, there will be uproar if they treat Dublin differently.

322 cases reported today. Lowest number for a long time. 5 deaths sadly. I had a look at the HPSC site and the number of deaths recorded to people aged under 65 in the month of October was 7. It would seem from that it's mainly older people who are dying from Covid. Still a little bit of positivity with today's case numbers.

I'd agree with most of that apart from the travel. That'll be widened to allow folk head home for christmas. Natioanlly anyway. Not sure what the story will be for people in London etc wanting to come home for Christmas. We all know it's an awful idea, but would be very unpopular to ban people returning for Christmas with the folks.

sorry yeah I meant international travel. Travel within Ireland should be ok if numbers are nearer the 100 mark. Although was thinking the politicians might alter the rules to suit themselves if they have children abroad!

Think the gyms have a good chance of reopening too for individual training

R number has dropped to between 0.7 and 0.9 - Was the aim to get it below one? If so is it likely that restrictions will be lifted/loosened

Vaccines would be ineffective against newer mutations right?

Like the brand new one discovered in Denmark where they found the virus mutates when it infects minks and then re-infects humans.

Ha I was thinking the same...

It’s great news. It gives you hope we could get some kind of normality restored in the next year.

More realistic thinking to be honest!
I mean let's be honest here... The sample size was only 45,000 people which means 4500 people didn't react to it.

It's giving people more false hope than when Boris Johnson told England we'd be partying this xmas LOL

The other 10% will develop immunity as the virus dies out.
