Can’t understand why people are still trying to shame others for doing things there is no direct evidence that they are putting people in danger. These will be the same bucks that have flouted guidelines in other ways and will be tweeting abuse at the government when they announce they are advising people not to leave their gaffs for Christmas.

We’re at a crossroads now and it’s hard to see us getting the case rate back down without full lockdown. There’s simply too much movement around the place. People have grown tired of restrictions and the government have lost elements of society; not least because some of their actions over recent months.

More restrictions are being slapped down but think that’ll be in vain also and even level 5 with schools open will be same. If we had greater ICU capacity we could wander on and see how we get on over another month but that’s clearly not possible.

The outlook is bleak.

Do you absolve GAA folk in the north who won county championships of any blame for going out and celebrating in numbers, after those sharing government in the north blatantly flouted the rules that they made, just like the Tories?

Serious question by the way, because in an earlier post you seem to intimate that the GAA are a disgrace for how they’ve behaved. Surely northern Gaels can point to Michelle and Gerry and therefore be justified in going out and celebrating without any criticism, just like Liverpool and Leeds fans?

Absolutely not

The behaviour of GAA supporters has been a disgrace

The behaviour of Liverpool and Leeds supporters is to be applauded

My position is totally consistent and logical

I honestly think lockdowns cause more problems than they solve, longterm this will be a disaster for us. No chance will it be for 6 weeks. We will be lucky to get out of it for Paddy's day.

Numbers will rise over the next three weeks level 5 or not. The virus spreads best in the home so initially things will get worse if we are home more.

Have things got worse in Dublin since level 3 was introduced? As expected first 3 weeks the cases went up and then it steadied out. It stayed at a steady rate while other parts of the Country the rate of infection was growing.
Lockdowns cause problems but not locking down will cause worse problems

People really need to consider the likely consequences of continual growth of spread and they are terrible

This is October 16th, March 16th is five months away, and March 16th is still basically the winter

What Dr. Nabarro from the WHO said was not an argument against lockdowns where they are needed

His words have predictably been mendaciously twisted by those with a right-wing political agenda

The issue is the lack of a proper find, test, trace and isolate system

That's how you're supposed to manage living with the virus

The issue is also lack of capacity in the health service which was a political decision taken over decades

That capacity can be improved modestly but no miracles can be performed

There are definite cultural issues at play here too

Catholic areas of the north are the worst hit

Why is that? Well, Sinn Fein "led by example" with the Bobby Storey funeral, ah, sure it'll be grand, to be shure to be shure

After initially responding well, sorry to say it but the GAA has been a f**king DISGRACE over the last few months

The arrogance, the sickening true Gaelism, the weasel words about community and then turning around and f**king sh*tting all over the community, not just the community as a whole, ie. Ireland, but their own local communities

And it is unfortunate that clubs that have behaved responsibly, such as Charleville, suffer by association with those who didn't give a sh*t, like Blackrock

Presuming this virus is still a factor next year, club GAA has now proved beyond doubt that it cannot and should not go ahead, because too many of those involved will just take the piss

Absolutely not true, East Belfast, Ballymena, Shankill examples of this, all had large outbreaks. It is proven to be worse worldwide in poorer areas. Nothing to do with with whether you agree with the pope or not.

Derry City and Strabane has the highest unemployment rate in the UK.

I would say his behavior is common enough it’s just his led to that number of cases.  Many people get away with it I suspect

Speculation of a hybrid of Level 4 and Level 5.
Could they bring in this Level with the addition of Retail Stores remaining open?
Of course they could, so maybe should is a better question

Shopping centres.  What a nightmare those places are. People hanging around doing fck all sitting on the ground congregating.  The shops are doing a good job but the centres themselves.   Went in once to get something important a couple
Of weeks and not going back to them.  Nightmare

I was in a  place called The Trafford Centre once.  Also one near Leeds. Can't remember what it was called.  Horrible places.  Big giant ostentatious monstrosities.

Westfield is hell on earth. The one near the Olympic Stadium in Stratford being the worst. It cost them billions to make Stratford worse.LOL
