As Kevin Bridges says these are the type of stupid opinionated gobsh*tes you meet in boozers who try to preach their sh*te to you and the appropriate response is resting your hand on their shoulder and say ''have a good night mate'' and make your exit

I know there was just no talking to him. He was totally convinced after watching Vernon Coleman videos that Covid is no worse than flu and that as I say Bill Gates is looking to make a fortune. He also suggested indeed that vaccines cause autism and that wearing masks was stupid. The amazing thing is he is a good boss- very good at his job. Organised and seemingly sensible. I was flabbergasted and initially thought he was taking the piss. But he genuinely wasn't.

On that theme, I welcome the shift of focus from the pubs anyway. Have been in plenty the last couple of weeks and all abiding by safety measures, one alright where servers aren’t wearing masks but otherwise abundantly safe. None are enforcing the time limit which is only common sense as it reduces the football between pubs in the city. This is an industry that employs 10s of thousands Yet not a peep about bookies where it is impossible to enforce social distancing; an industry that ruins lives and families every day of the week. The bookies I’ve been in you wouldn’t think there was any pandemic - a screen up between the betting terminals only change I noticed along with a hand sanitizer at the doors.

72,000 cases in America yesterday, 61,000 the day before.
Those protests were a serious bad idea! Was reading an article where in Texas you get discriminated for wearing a mask, country is f**ked. Brazil have reopened everything back up despite still getting around 45,000 cases per day, it's almost the 2 countries are competing with each other see who can get the highest. India a distanced 3rd getting around 30,000 a day.

Short yarn but goes to show what we’re about to face. Why would Yanks not travel if they had already paid hundreds of quid for flights to come to a country much safer thank their own? The government will have a lot to answer for in a couple of months if we are back closing parts of our economy

The spread of covid is highest among younger people this isn't some spin it's the facts.
Dr Glynn added that 77% of the new infections were detected in people under 25 years of age.

Yes and that’s the same the world over. Elderly people are being more cautious now whilst young people naturally Are wanting to socialise and are more willing to take risks. The source of the virus was travel, is travel and will be travel. It’s time to cut off the source. I was listening to RTÉ the other day. A fella had gone home to Romania for a wedding. The police visited him every day during his quarantine period. We are a laughing stock with Filling a form out and nothing else can happen if not quarantining. Those in power will learn after a second wave alright is my guess. Really hope I’m wrong but can’t see us riding our luck for too many more weeks as more and more people come back from abroad

You're probably right on the travel. But let's not try and absolve our youthful friends of their responsibilities here.

Good few UK camper vans and caravans in Kinsale today. Might as well just open the pubs if we're letting everyone in.

I just can't figure out how we are allowing this to happen. Flights from one of the world's worst hotspots. It's absolute insanity. I understand the UK being different with the backdoor etc, but allowing US tourists to fly in while they can't go anywhere else in the EU?
What the f**k are we at?! |

Agreed. I think the government are going to lose a lot of support over the coming days/weeks if they don't sort this out fairly sharpish.
