Bilbao didn't host games either?
It would damage this forums' reputation

We signed up to host 4 games here, whether Ireland qualified or not. Everyone else was still prepared to host it, most with cases and death rates that put the Irish toll in perspective.

Hosting tournaments of any description don't come around here very often. There are very few international travellers to any of the venues, because of all the restrictions in place. As it is, we have more than enough Poles Slovaks and Swedes living here to fill 25% of Lansdowne on a matchday, and every one of them there would either be vaccinated or have a negative test. That's all we were asked to do by UEFA, the bare minimum. Everyone else said yes, so telling them that we're the land of nyet, made no sense whatsoever.

Financial Times reporting that the Brits are delaying opening for at least a month because of Delta. I reckon we're probably  3/4 weeks behind them in terms of it seeding here. No way we'll be able to keep it out

It's not widespread here yet but we have virtual unrestricted trave with the UK, so it's inevitable it'll be widespread here soon. Starting to creep up in numbers up north too

The link between cases and hospitalizations is severed, 59 in hospital and 23 in ICU are the most important figures. The vaccines work well against all the variants, getting vaccines into people asap is the issue.

It's severed here in terms of the Beta Variant. UK ahead of us with vaccines and still seeing exponential growth from Delta. Its rampant amongst the younger coherts over there (I.e.the unvaccinated) which is where we're seeing the majority of our cases currently from Beta. Basically a race now between double dosing the majority of the adult population and Delta seeding here.

Should have double dosed 50% of pop by end of the month, first week in July. We have very little Indian variant here at the moment (1%), so we have things under control for the moment. Agree vax, vax , vax

According to the Telegraph, the Brits already have 55% of their population fully vaccinated and 75% woth one dose, yet there still struggling with Delta. It would be mental for are government not to impose temporary restrictions for bilateral travel between here and the UK. Although that doesn't temper the risk of Delta coming in from the North

Yes to both, although thankfully they are predicting a less lethal wave this around. Worryingly 12 fully vaccinated people have already died from Delta (although no idea if Covid caused these deaths or was just present at the time of death)

Got tickets to Wimbledon but you have to prove you have had both vaccines.
There is now an NHS app that shows the date and type of vaccine you got. I guess that’s your vaccine passport.

It’s seating only but full capacity at Wimbledon.

Seems to be a loophole, but seems like the registration is already open for 39-35.

Click the box 40 - 69 and then fill in your accurate details. I'm 37 and now registered.

Should I be pestering my GP? I have asthma. Few friends and family said I should but I'd feel a bit odd doing it
They finally did it man... They killed my f**kin' car...
