doesn’t start much and when he does he never finishes and is usually the first subbed before the 70th minute. Isn’t doing much today from what I’m hearing.....but on the other hand ireland need a new saviour after doherty, Idah and Molumby flopped so Smallbone..come on down.

That's a bit unfair as he's only breaking into the team so being subbed a lot is to be expected.
The fact he is trusted to start in a good team is testament to how he is considered by the club.

he is a young lad whose breaking into a team and for now is not tearing up any trees. There’s no big questions for Kenny because he starts the odd game and is subbed after after doing the bare minimum. I wish him well but we are talking years before he becomes a significant player for ireland, not months.
I have nothing against Idah etc, I think it’s best to play Idah over Shane Long whose 5 years past his best. But you’re playing them to get experience not to be match winners. They aren’t at that level.

Yeah, would really like to see smallbone and Obafemi go on loan for some regular game time. They do have time on their side but I feel that they are ready for first team football

Wouldn't be in competition with Diallo who is a defensive midfielder. Will have to see how Walcott goes and what position Southampton play him in.

Disappointingly doesn't seem to be making the squad anymore. Neither does obafemi.
Molumby doesn't make the Brighton squad, parrott is injured and looks to be out till Christmas. Masterson sits on the qpr bench, Coventry doest get a look in at West ham. Connolly, knight and collins are positives

Yeah, disappointing all right.
Knight has to be moving ahead of Molumby in the senior squad position if this continues. And Obafemi's outburst is looking more and more foolish as time passes. I'd have Afolabi starting ahead of him v Iceland next month in that central role. |
