I'd be picking:

Doherty, Egan, Duffy , Stevens
McCarthy Arter Hendrick
Robinson McGoldrick Connolly

Club form will likely play a big part and I'd not be averse to seeing Long in there ahead of either McG or Robinson.
Or Idah or Parrott if they get a few goals early on and look sharp...

Most importantly we need games in the players so they come into this match physically and mentally match-fit and capable of a high-press with intensity.

Going to get some hiding without a goalkeeper.

Can we tell UEFA they bullied us or something and get them f**ked out and we go through to the final LOL

Hard to believe this is finally going ahead and how massive it is. This is the first step of our chance of playing in a major finals in Dublin

Will Obafemi make a return or has SK decided he's not a player for him

If Kenny is determined to play 433, I'd drop McGoldrick for Shane Long and play Connolly and Robinson beside him. Long at least still has some pace. Big Dave is too slow and can't score.

Any thought is moving Connolly central so he gets more of the ball?
Seems our most dangerous forward so I'd say we want him more involved.

Could then, gulp, play McClean on the left for added gusto and verve.

We really need Coleman in for this one. We’re going to struggle without our defence being solid.

If we had options on the left maybe, although I think he could get isolated.

McClean has no place in the side anymore at least in an attacking area imo. He breaks down attacks too much in the final 3rd and loses possession. If Kenny is intent on this possession style 433 I think McCleans days starting games are over.

Coleman was pretty poor the last few games for Ireland, not that Doherty has been any better.

That game will tell ya who should be right back for the Slovakia game. Doherty will struggle in a back 4 at right back. He's good when he has cover in the 3-5-2 system

Our players will have notched up about 3 games before the Solvakia game.

Doherty, Coleman, Hendrick, McCarthy, all getting game time and regaining sharpness. Egan, Stevens, Connolly and mcgoldrick should play today.

Duffy playing first team football essential so that's good to see.

Really hope Brady, odowda and arter see some football.

I dont think Molumby, Oshea, smallbone should be considered for the Slovakia game but the other nation league games they should be selected for some time on the pitch

The previous squad was announced on Monday 24th of August, so would have thought around Monday 28th of September, which seems like no time at all. At least it gives that round of matches for players to get minutes or injured.

Smallbone, Obafemi and Long and non-starters for So'ton today.
We seem to have a lot of guaranteed squad-members not making starting teams.

I say that knowing only Long will likely be in the next squad but there are others - Idah, Hourihane, Connolly, O'Dowda and Arter too.
Many of the non-defensive options we looked at in the two NL games are simply not playing much club football yet and this match is fast approaching.

This is a worry.

McCarthy will hopefully be at full fitness (no guarantees there) and Hendrick too so that's something.
But who else from our midfield and attacking six will be?
