Yes, but the clubs hold far more power. The national associations can't really break away, and while the clubs have no real intention to do so, not when they are calling the shots, they still have that threat. Since they initially threatened to go their own way, UEFA have bent over backwards to accommodate them. Add to that the last Euros, held ever four years, generated less than last season's CL and you can see which way the balls are weighted. The members know that if they want to keep getting their share of the honeypot that they have to keep the clubs happy. Losing the NL would be a small price in the current climate. It is also worth remembering that attendances haven't been up much, for most nations at least, on friendlies, so the only factor is the television deal. I reckon finishing this CL and having a full one next season, or as close to it as possible, whenever that may be, will require breaks where NL games or friendlies may take place. Even at that, clubs would have less of an objection to the friendlies as it is easier to pull players out. Having made this argument, I know fully expect the NL to go ahead as planned and the CL to be reduced.

UEFA planned to play the 2022/23 nations league in June and September of 2022. The World Cup playoffs are scheduled for March 2022. In June there would be 4 nations league games and the final 2 games would take place in September. There is no international break in October 2022. I just wanted to point this out as people seem to think there is lots of extra space in the international football calendar because the World Cup takes place in November 2022. There really isn’t. Either way I cannot see both the 2020/21 and 2022/23 nations leagues taking place.

Exactly, arguing over possible scenarios is pointless. No one knows how it's gonna be in the next few weeks let alone months ahead, second wave of infections, new lockdown measures. Different countries been affected worse than others etc etc |

It would damage this forums' reputation

Never want to wish an injury on a player, but if we had played them without him we would possibly be slight favourites.

That was earlier. October semi, November final latest. It's been changed in the Indo, might just take a few minutes to update.
