Before the premier league season starts this week, can you name the
Irish players with the most appearances in the PL for each club? https://www.sporcle.com/games/IrishAbroad/name-the-player-with-most-pl-appearances-for-each-club

There are seven Ireland players starting today's Premier League fixtures - John Egan, Callum Robinson, Enda Stevens, David McGoldrick, Seamus Coleman, Conor Hourihane, and Shane Duffy - for the first time since January 2018

You asked if I'd be anyone from history, fact or fiction, dead or alive:
I said "I'd be Tony Cascarino, circa 1995" |

I remember checking the Sunday papers for Irish Premier league appearances 15 to 20 years ago - the target was always to find 20 Irish players playing in a weekend. About half the time you'd find that many or more. We're still miles away from that now but good to find some improvement starting to come through after the last few years.

15-20 years ago the competition was far less fierce. You had guys playing in the top 4 teams that probably wouldn't get near top-half sides nowadays.

After Sheffield United started four Ireland players last weekend, I
checked if any team had started more Irish players in the Premier
League: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/Blog?id=1725515273729343737

After Jack Byrne became the 500th player to play for Ireland last night, I wondered who the other players at each 100th-player milestone were http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/Blog?id=1784395758237795597 Edited by tetsujin1979 - 11 Sep 2019 at 1:12pm |
