Big issue just seems to be they don't have any room for him in the match day squad. Emiliano Marcondes who was signed in the summer is their only midfielder on the bench, and he's an attacking midfielder. Ryan Christie has played on the wing in the last two games after playing in midfield first. Unfortunately for Kilkenny the midfield trio of Pearson, Lerma, and Billing can all cover six, so Bournemouth have a more attacking bench. Sucks for Kilkenny but makes sense you'd have Marcondes on the bench over him when you can shift around your midfield to cover that holding role. Edited by J89 - 26 Sep 2021 at 3:11pm |

Doubt Parker doesn't rate him. Just finds himself unlucky that Billing, Pearson, and Lerma who are the midfield trio can all cover that holding role. They're bench is very attack minded. So unfortunately he finds himself being the one to miss out on the match day squad. I'd like to see him loaned out in January. With four games in 12 days next summer the more lads playing regular first team football the better for us. |

Thought it was a dead straight interview..Keep his head down don't sulk train hard every day and things can change a player or two can get injured go off the boil! If not he will be loaned out in Jan to develop him. Hopefully one of the two happens. Big positive is Parker trusted him early on and he proved he can play at that level. At worst if they do go up he will get a Championship loan next season I think!

Yeah, it's a tricky situation. Lerma and Pearson and Billing are all very good players at this level with plenty experience at Championship by Pearson and Lerma and Billing in the Prem and even abroad. Plus he is adapting his game to a new position. No harm for him to make the most of the next few months getting the influence of a midfielder like Parker was and suss the loan market in January to apply the learnings and get the games.

Easy to forget that the first few games of the season when kilkenny was a starter were his first senior games in the league. He did extremely well that being the case.
This should encourage other teams to take a chance on him. |

Positive news, strange one from not been in the match day squad the last few games, to straight back in. Great to see him start.

Yeah, bit of a yoyo inclusion. He started the season in the first team, played some decent stuff, was dropped from the squad completely, and now back in the starting line up... Admittedly it has a bit to do with the terrible news with the lad who was diagnosed with cancer and of course football is just a game and the lads health is most important.

Watched the first half, played very well, the commentator picked him out to state that he really enjoyed watching him play, so far so good.

Jefferson Lerma is on the bench so a big vote of confidence. The yoyo point is true but how bad. Parker implied as much that he'd get games and experience.

A lot of Irish players involved at the top end of the table this year. Travers, Kilkenny, O'Shea, Molumby, Robinson, Lenihan etc. Long may it continue.

Had a really good game by all accounts. Seems to be a touch of class in his football. Definitely one of the positives this weekend from an ireland perspective.
Good - Kilkenny - 90mins in a two nil win and now top of the championship Travers - another clean sheet for Travers, top of the table and locked down his position. Remains the outsider in the ireland goalie stakes. Mcclean - enjoying his football again and was the key man for Wigan today. Kelleher - starts for Liverpool and made a fantastic save for the clean sheet, they'll be tougher weeks for kelleher but he's got the ball rolling Nathan Collins- 90mins in the premier league against man City was not an easy ask but burnley fans seem to think he was their best player. Knight and ebosele getting back into the Derby starting 11 after injury lay offs and getting 90 mins. Keane adding to his goal tally. Molumby - came on as a sub and looked to be hungry for the ball BAD idah, omobamidele and connolly keep the bench warm Parrott - form has hit the skids and doesn't look a goal threat. Taylor, Coventry and Szmodics still all struggling at Peterborough Bazunu conceding 4 today for Portsmouth.

did you watch the MK Dons and Peterborough games to surmise those points? That's some going.

Tbf to the Peterborough boys the general concensus is the midfielders are a lesser evil then the lack of strikers and in particular defenders. I don't think the 3 boys are the main issue. Portsmouth is actually quite worrying as they'd have been fancied to go up and they have a decent Irish contingent. |

I was thinking the same, however, they haven't played the same midfield two games in a row, there's added interest in Peterborough they have Coventry, Szmodics and Taylor in midfield but they clearly haven't settled on who plays where. Hoping for a turnaround but it didn't happen today |

The Bournemouth fans are raving about his performance yesterday, some are saying he should be starting for Ireland already and others saying he could go on to be a PL player.

It's great to see but let's not assume he has the spot nailed down. The injury crisis in Bournemouths midfield is no more. He's going to have to perform week in week out to keep his place.
