They'd be fining almost every side then though wouldn't they? From top of the PL to bottom of League 2, teams are consistently playing weaker teams in the League Cup.

Has anyone got fined ever for it?

Can't see how Liverpool could get away with the team in the last round if they enforced that. Literally none of their starting XI were in that team

Looking forward to this one. Be interesting to see how the young lads do. Villa have a big game v Southampton on Saturday so may rest a few players. Should still have enough to get through but hopefully we make a game of it

Klopp could have and should have put out a stronger team for this game game, those 1st team players could have got a flight out tomorrow for Sat game.

Klopp has done brilliantly to get this game played now and get Liverpool knocked out. With the World Club Cup this year, the very last thing Liverpool need is a possible 2 legged league cup SF in January. Then potentially a final in early March pushing back another PL fixture. 

It is absolutely essential that Liverpool get knocked out today and Liverpool and Klopp are 100 percent correct in wanting the fixture played today, and also in leaving no senior regulars behind for the Villa game.

I haven't even looked but I'm presuming you won't even get even money on minus 1. I have a feeling Villa will play mostly fringe players with a few regulars thrown in. It should still be easily enough to progress.

Horrible prices tbf, and I fully expect Villa to go through. Problem being I think the Villa players will expect to go through also and can see it being a really poor and scrappy game. 

Villa to go a couple of goals ahead and stroll around is my prediction. With Liverpool getting a consolation late enough on then.
