I don't think it would be typical, no.

The Express & Star says Ryan Giles, Dion Sanderson, Connor Ronan and Austin Samuels are all currently back at Compton Park working alongside a reduced first-team squad.

It’s not really rare though either. I know Manchester United loanees often spend time back during their loans. Dean Henderson when at Shrewsbury would even train 1 day a week with United while on loan.

Bazunu was meant to do similar while at Rochdale but couldn't because of Covid obviously.

He's back there to make up the numbers at training since so many others are away on international duty. Must have been written into the loan agreement presumably.

Gives them a good chance to see how their player is progressing too.

Scores his 4th goal of the season.

Could be an outside bet for a callup in March, in better form than McGrath at St Mirren.

Cracking goal. Think he is a much better player than McGrath just had a bizarre career path would like to see him get a call up.

Stephen Kenny did namecheck him last month, so he might not be too far away from a call up.

From Ronan's point of view he's lucky in that Kenny doesn't need to see Ronan up close. Kenny knows him inside out. He just needs to make sure he's calling in a Ronan who's performing.

Was on standby for a call up in the autumn so it wouldn't be a surprise if he got a look in for the March friendlies.

Hope he gets a call. Would be nice to have actual playmaker in the squad.

He needs to be in the squad. He is a play maker and best available to us.

Is playing very well this season which deserves a call up in its own right. having as many different options in the squad as possible is where we want to be. It's absolutely no harm at all to have a playmaker sitting on the bench.

The usual story is one midfielder is replaced by pretty much a carbon copy as far as attributes go. It would be great to have somebody who fundamentally shifts the tempo and becomes a focal point.

Three goals and an assist in the last four games for Ronan. That's six goals and three assists so far this season and with the form he's in he'll surely pass McGrath's tally of league goals from last season. McGrath had ten goals and two assists, and seven of those were penalties while Ronan only has the one penalty from his six.

St Mirren look like a different team since the winter break with their move to 4-2-3-1 rather than three at the back. Hopefully they keep it up and Ronan keeps adding to his tally for a better move next season.
