I'd agree with that. Only heard they were offered 10 seasons with 10 episodes per season but said they could do it in 8 with reduced episodes.
 
A lot of people seem to be griping about who was on the throne at the end, who was killed etc which to me is them just not happy with what they wanted to happen. Feeling rushed, and storylines that went nowhere or were ignored are legitimate gripes though

Rushed. No build up to major moments. One or two conversations between Jon and Tyrian and after 8 seasons Danni is killed in an instant

Once they couldn’t use the books as source material, the writing got steadily worse. With that last season though, it fell off a cliff. It’s all the more disappointing because of how good it was up until season 6

With a bit of hindsight I think the last season was good. The build up really meant expectations were never going to be met really. I include myself in that. It was rushed no doubting it but to be fair visually it was as good as I have ever seen on TV. The Stroyline of Daenerys flipping I suppose was decent enough though too quick. Once Jon had declared his lineage she was always going to become paranoid with the huge support he had. That should have played out over a season or so though. Even if they had stuck with the 10 episode format it would have been perfect to tease things out. In the end the White Walkers were destroyed in one episode, Kings Landing was destroyed in one episode. It was too rushed that's my only gripe.
Walters coming back from an offside position but Shane Long was definitely onside- Shane Lonnggggggg.... has done it!!!!

Now tv free trial for two weeks then either sign up or sign out.

I've got to season 4 and taken a break. It's a big undertaking. Can be a slog watching it at times i've found.
