That Brazil team were something else. You can see how they have hammered everyone else that they have played so far. Respectable shift put in by our players though, thought Connolly and O'Connor were our two best from watching the second half.

Some very strong performances there.

There's no disgrace in going down 2-0 to an exceptional Brazilian team.

Totally shafted that we got paired with Brazil after winning our group.

I can see Connolly, Molumby, O'Shea, O'Connor, Coventry and possibly Kelleher, Masterson and Ronan getting senior caps over the years.

Connolly's form will not have gone unnoticed in this tournament and will have serious options now.  A move to the Bundesliga could be a good option for him if Brighton aren't looking to have him in their first team squad. Hoffenheim were previously in for him apparently.

Completely outplayed in the 2nd half but they played well in the first half after a shaky start. Huge learning experience for them and hopefully can finish with a win against Mexico.

Kelleher is excellent with the ball at his feet. Would like to see him in a few more games before making a judgement on him. Doesn't look physically developed enough yet for senior football.

Both O'Connor and Leahy are very good defensively, but seem to lack a bit offensively. Leahy is especially weak in this aspect, gives the ball away a lot, which might prevent him getting a move away from the LoI.

They did very well not to get too disheartened after the second goal, I feared the worst then. That Brazilian team is seriously strong and would beat the vast majority of senior teams around and will be one of the favourites for the Olympics. No shame at all in losing.

Molumby and Connolly the standout performers, but there were others who showed glimpses too. Ronan and Idah couldn't get into the game, but I wouldn't be judging them on that.

Yeah, but could they do it on a wet Monday night against Gibraltar?

Douglas Luiz. Man City already own him! He's been playing on loan for Girona in Spain for the last two seasons.

Tournament website has text updates. YouTube sometimes has burping, chain smoking Vietnamese oddballs who don't turn off their notifications streaming the matches. Type in the team names, the filter by upload date. If you see other links here (especially those without https) you might as well just throw your laptop/smartphone into a barrel of rotting corpses

The only aspect of their play I can be critical of is the free-kicks. More often than not in the 4 games, free kicks in the central part of the pitch have just been hit long rather than trying to work them in to a better crossing position, even when they've had players free to do so. Small criticism but it could have added something to their attack.
