So basically we have two free hits at qualifying. Win either game and we are through. So thats means we will draw both

Walters coming back from an offside position but Shane Long was definitely onside- Shane Lonnggggggg.... has done it!!!!

Looking at it now I don't really think those extra 2 pts would have made much difference in what we would need to do, I still think we would have needed to win another game even with a win in Georgia....possibly would have scraped by with 2 draws but in all probability would have lost out on GD

If we draw with Switzerland Denmark will have already qualified by the time we play them at home.

Could actually work out nicely for us.

So draw against swiss is no good to us or against Denmark. Kind of interesting. We have to go for it in both games

When do we ever go for it?

The only time I recall was Paris 2009.

Usually when we are in this situation we play not to lose and show zero ambition.  We never win these games and we wont this year either.  So pissed off with McCarthy and the players today.

in a way im happy with the result ere. time to man up and show some courage and, shock horror, actually man up and go out and try and WIN a game!!! wats the point really in scraping draws here and there to get there... the end doesn’t always justify the means!!

Yes but when reality hits and we realise Fcuk we have no chance of winning any of these games the way we are currently playing.

its not just a mentality of attacking football.. the players seem to be afraid to hold on to the ball and run with it or do something positive. The amount of times today, against Georgia the midfield got the ball and let it go as if it was on fire was ridiculous, it's as if glen Whelan is contagious.
Mcclean is an engine..but not a footballing one..
The whole midfield were awful today!
We should have had many balls flying Into the box, the keeper was useless..  even throw duffy up front!! Play to our strengths and their weaknesses?!?? No??

Talking out of his arse!

Anyone can see Connolly is by far our best striking option.   He did more in 10 mins tonight that anyone on the pitch for 90 mins!
Kerr and Quinn are Mick's mates from the media as he worked with Virgin last year.

Impartial me hole!

Graham Potter sees his potential and ability, and throws him in vrs two world class Cbs, but big Mick gives him ten minutes against two Georgian blocks. any wonder only lower league teams where interested in his services after Ipswich.

yet somehow he lands the biggest footballing job in our country... only in little old EIRE ehhhh

True, but not even Mick at his most foolish will make the mistakes that were made on that awful night.

Remember CB's being taken off and Steven Ward being told to hold the forth 'as a CB'

fully sure MON has some sort of brain seizure that night

Worth saying we would probably have to beat Den or Switz at least once in order to qualify - four draws would hardly be enough for 2nd place.

Denmark winning tonight merely crystalises the point that we have to win one.

If we had won today two draws would have done the job.

Now we need to beat someone.
