The Auxies and Black and Tans really did terrorise the country and were left to carry out their deeds unhindered with backing from the very top. Often carrying out searches and killings etc while drunk. They must have scared the sh*te out of the local people burning villages and towns.  No wonder they were hated and feared so much. There really was no protection from them if the IRA were not active.

And people still wondered about state collusion in the North during the Troubles. History has a tendency to repeat itself.
I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.

Surprisingly EU harmonisation doesn't extend to the number of Public Holidays per member state.
