I don’t think that Robbie Brady will be guaranteed a starting place under Mick.

O’Dowda is in great form at the moment as was Callum Robinson before injury. Those two could be decent options on either wing.

I see that Robbie came off with a knock vs City yesterday, I’m not sure he will be fully fit in time for Gibraltar / Georgia.

actually not a bad group to choose from on recent form

GK- Randolph and westwood each playing every week, reasonably well it seems

RB- doherty on fire, Christie playing every week seemingly decent, coleman depends on who you ask but hes playing regularly and is our captain

LB- stevens playing well for sheff u, ward back from injury and made bench for burnleys last 2 games, Cunningham apparently out of favor at Cardiff but was getting decent game time earlier in season, Williams at Blackburn

CH- duffy playing great, egan playing really well, past that still have clark, dunne, Keogh, k long, lenihan etc

CM- browne and arter playing well, hourihane seems to be doing reasonably well, hendrick has maybe found a little form, shaun Williams ever present for millwall. McCarthy back from injury. obviously rice would be huge if he stays, not sure what Crowley's status is but that's another option further forward

wings- o'dowda in great form, brady returning from injury, horgan and mcgeady seem to be playing regularly/decent.

fwd- mcgoldrick, s long, Hogan, Maguire, Curtis, O'Brien, obafemi. potentially bamford joining up. callum robinson was also quite good before his injury.

Christie is part of a defense who has kept 2 clean sheets and conceded 58 goals in the Premier League I wouldn't call that seemingly decent

From that the team should probably look like:

Randolph

Coleman
Duffy
Egan
Stevens

Arter
Browne
Hendrick

Brady
Long
O'Dowda

You forgot McClean on the wing too btw. Still has something to offer though prefer Brady on the left.
Walters coming back from an offside position but Shane Long was definitely onside- Shane Lonnggggggg.... has done it!!!!

Matt Doherty has to start! He has been our most inform player in the Premier League. Seamus Coleman has been completely out of sorts all season so if it’s a choice between him and Doherty for right back then it has to be Doherty. However as others have said on here we probably could play Doherty as a right midfielder and Coleman as the right back. Alternatively in a 5-3-2 we could play Coleman as a centre back and Doherty as the right wing back. Since we are probably most lacking in the striking department for inform players in comparison to midfield and defence I would probably favour a 4-5-1 of:

Randolph

Coleman
Duffy
Egan
Stevens

Doherty
Arter
Browne
Hendrick
O’Dowda

McGoldrick

Randolph

Coleman
Duffy
Keogh
Stevan's

Doherty
Rice
Hendrick
Brown
Odowda

Long

That's our best performing eleven playing in the top two divisions. Brady, McLean are just not preforming this season.

as it stands he is an Irish player. There is another tread if you want a will he/won't he argument.

Given his history with McCarthy and the fact that he is actually scoring goals you have to assume mcgoldrick is probably leading the way. If Maguire, can score a few over the next month he might be in with a shout.

problem with our strikers is they preform the best in a partnership and it's ok playing two upfront against Gibraltar but against stronger nations our midfield is not strong enough to only play a 4-4-2 we need 3 in the center, well unless Rice can do the work of two men.

Keogh and Egan won’t be in the starting eleven.

You cannot play Hendrick or Browne / Hourihane in the same midfield. Only one out of the three can play.

McGoldrick will feature somewhere, as will Callum O’Dowda and Callum Robinson when he returns from injury.

Mick may opt for Westwood over Randolph too imo.

Anybody’s guess as to who starts in midfield.
