Ballygunner not good enough on the day but Borrislleigh fought hard and deserved the win. Massive congrats to them

Hard luck to Ballysaggart too who lost out to fr o neills of cork in the Intermediate final

Ballyhale shamrocks must be licking there lips now but they still have to get over the challenge of st mullens in the Leinster final

The pitches will be destroyed and I'm not sure will a heavy pitch suite Ballygunner

Great game of hurling yesterday between Laois champs R/E and St Mullins. Deserved win for Mullins and the final two points of the game by Doyle would grace any AI hurling final. Great to have teams from two 'lesser' hurling counties serve up such an entertaining game with plenty of skill on show.

You'd feel for Paddy Purcell who had a decent chance to level the game with time just up. Mullins were worthy winners though and hopefully they give Ballyhale a right rattle. Carlow always the poor neighbours to KK but they can hurl!
I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.

they have a great chance and are playing better atm but need to keep concentration for the munster final and not talk about All Irelands. Although Borrislleigh are in there first Munster final in years they have a great team with some with AI winners. Crazy things have happened in club hurling

Ballyhale the team to beat but the wexford champs wont be too easy to beat in the Leinster semi final

AI semi finals draw is AFAIK (now the weekend of 4/5th Jan 2020 with final on the 18th Jan)
Leinster champs vs Slaughtneil (Ulster champs)
Munster champs vs St Thomas's (Galway)

The 2020 NHL fixtures still not released even with the Season ticket renewals open

Ballysaggart won the intermediate, so that debate goes away for a while. Ballygunner won the minor, so only a few points away from a clean sweep of all 3 county titles. The CB need to go away & look at the rules regarding intermediate promotion for a team already in senior before the same scenario happens next year, which it easily could.

He's obviously making a statement, I wouldn't have got rid of Connors just yet meself, but his form has dipped in last 2 years, not that he is alone there. There's a few more being axed too depending on what rumours ya believe, he's meant to have cut 6 of last years panel. Got rid of the entire backroom staff from last year as well.

Ballygunner making it 6 in a row in Waterford and will start there defence of the Munster Championship against Sixmilebridge of Clare in the QF in a few weeks

Cahill has made some surprising calls already and has dropped Maurice Shannahan and Noel Connors from the panel. Very surprised with these calls and believe it's not the right one and these guys should be in the panel. We dont the reasons for dropping them but time will tell. Also Brick Walsh has retired from intercounty hurling. Great servant for Waterford and for the game in general. He will be missed but that's sporting life and everything must come to an end, all the best to him in the future

I don't even remember seeing him on the Wexford bench, so dunno what his input there was, then again, hard to tell what one specific fella does when you have 37 different assistants of some description. Believe they asked a few before settling on Frampton, but others declined due to various (genuine) reasons.

Cahill is his own man from what I'm told, so not sure if the selector's role in this case is going to be all-important, sure I suppose they'll do whatever he tells them to do !

Interesting selector appointments for Waterford and happy enough. Will Molumphy be the runner?? What was his role with Wexford ?. A lot of bitching/moaning about Frampton getting the role as he was on the management committee. Hopefully it works out for this management team and bring us back to the good days

Heard its Stephen Bennett who is going travelling but could easily be someone else. Noel Connors, Moran and Brick could give it up due to work etc but none of these owe us anything and gave it there all. We shall see tomorrow

Galway have there all Ireland tho at our expense lol

County final in Laois will be between Rathdowney/Errill and Borris/Kilcotton after yesterday's semi finals. They both contested the 2016 final and drew 2.26 apiece with Borris winning the replay.

A great day for Ross King of Rathdowney in particular who lost a few teeth and required stitches to his face after being assulted against Camross in last years final. King had to leave the pitch after the incident which happened in the first half. Scored a goal in injury time yesterday with Camross 2 points in front and time nearly up.

Some strike it was too and Rathdowney won by a point. He most likely would prefer to have his own teeth back but he enjoyed his bit of revenge.
I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.

Senior final is on next week Ballygunner vs De La Salle. Ballygunner going for 6 in a row

Read somewhere there was no rule in place for this scenario, but I wouldn't have a clue. There is no way Ballygunner should be allowed have 2 teams at senior, within a few years, it could be a preview of the 'split Dublin in 2' argument, with them meeting their B team in the county final. Even the thoughts of it is ridiculous (as is splitting Dublin in 2).

Seemingly there was a similar discussion in Wexford a few years back when the then senior champions Oulart's intermediate team got as far as the intermediate SF's. It looked like they were going to allow them have 2 senior teams with the proviso that panels had to be named at the start of the year with no swapping in between them, in the end Oulart were beaten in the intermediate SF and it hasn't looked like happening since, so didn't go any further.

I'd imagine the other clubs would kick up an almighty fuss, but if there is a pre-existing rule covering it, there might not be anything they can do about it.
