Why should they change the name of it just because other places decided to create their own version of open tournaments?

You could say exactly the same thing about the FA.  It smacks of the smugness that has been at the centre of that golfing culture. Not letting women join many of their clubs for years etc.  Its called having humility and seeing the game expand and not being so smug.

Your so called “British Open” was played outside of Britain this year! Mental.

Let’s see it being played in other countries so in the future :)

Minus Bo Martin's £172,051. He was very impressive whenever the mic's picked them up.

Shane seems like one of life's good guys - Delighted for him.
And it's no The British Open, it's the Open Championship : If you've got an issue with the winner being called the champion golfer of the year then you're welcome to hop in your time machine and do something about it.

Let’s hope JB Holmes never contends another major! The slow play is f**king grim to watch, delighted he shot 87.

Could tell how frustrated Koepka was playing alongside him.

It's not nice to see someone have a round that bad. He can take as long as he wants over a shot

You do realise your post was in made in the English language? Soup taker!
On the web, that was invented by an English lad. Soup taker!
And, for the record, I call the UK family many things but living here means I normally have to tone it down.

Yes of course and there is no issue with the language or
The people or the country.  Many great people. But doesn’t mean the smugness of continuing to call a golf tournament “the” open or “the” FA or “the” royal family or the champion golfer of the year.   There is a whole world out there that exists beyond it.

No he actually can’t take as long as he likes.

It’s about time more players were penalised for slow play, JB has been the worst offender for years so I’m naturally delighted he had a shocker of a day.
