As expected McIlroy didn’t handle the pressure on the back 9 well at all.

amazing to birdie the last 2

rory doesn't have it mentally nowadays to hold up under the major pressure

Rory played his best golf in the last few holes when the pressure was off, he will win another major but I reckon it could be one where he’s’ 5/6 shots off the leader on the final day and shoots a really low score with the pressure off.

I reckon it will be the other way, he will just have an unbelievable week and will be 5/6 ahead going into the final round.

He has the game but it’s between the ears that is letting him down. Another top 10 finish but that’s not what he wants.

But nobody can dominate at the moment. About 20-30 players can win each tournament now.

yeah it has to be one of those, he will never win a major if it's close, his bottle has gone in those situations, he has the talent though but can't putt and his iron play is way off the best. having a perfect swing doesn't count for much on the scorecard lol

Yeah I wouldn’t bet on him when it’s close going down the last few holes.
Once he started talking about majors being his number one priority he stopped winning them.

Golf shouldn’t be in the Olympics! Don’t care who wins.

The Open starts tomorrow.

Rahm is the big fav around 10/1
Koepka is still available at 18/1 (always put an EW on him)

Good odds on Spieth/ Thomas / D Johnson all in the 20’s

E/W on:
Koepka
Oosthuzien
Rors

Uncalled for and stupid comments from McIlroy, more or less saying he's no interest in representing Ireland but is going to the Olympics to try to get his game back and for the sport itself.

I was never so stupid as to think he was anything near patriotic, but just don't see the point in these comments. Unless he wants to appease the Ulster Rugby guys and NI friends when he plays under the tricolour.

Seen that. We should have just sent someone who wants to be there and  wants to represent Ireland.

$600K first prize but the 2 year exemption is fantastic as you can play more relaxed golf.

Yep. He can really go for it now and not have to worry about trying to hold on to his card. Into the US PGA and TPC Sawgrass as well next year Clap
