Feels like the season for the very top guys will be over in July (if no Ryder cup). Then it will just be a matter of collecting appearance fees. Great career tho - if I could to be a top sportsman, a golfer wins hands down.

There are obvious upsides, particularly the longer career, but the downsides surely outweigh them. The amount of time you would have to spend with other professional golfers, for a start. I know other sports seem to only produce superstars that are ****s too, Formula 1 being an obvious example, but they aren't always boring. Less likely to be racist too. Maybe I don't follow it enough, but aren't they all incredibly boring, with the very odd exception? Plus, I would imagine one of the best parts of being a top sports star is the adulation. With golf that generally means you are going to be the hero of a marketing manager from Swindon and the lad down the pub who refers to his trousers as slacks. I think playing in a World Cup for Ireland, even as an injury-time sub and a career that peaked in the LOI, would still be miles better than being Rory McIlroy.

JB Holmes is painful to watch, put me off watching last night due to his slow play.

Poor form alright. All he talks about is winning majors. Hasn’t won in 4 years now and he won’t be happy when players like Spieth, Koepkta and Thomas pass him on the majors count.

When he was talking a few weeks ago he said it’s all about the money and titles on the US tour. Amazing to think he still has money on his mind, Sunday Times had him with a wealth of €96 million last year. |

its pretty poor form not entering the Irish Open. Hes free to do what he likes but you would think the Irish Open would be a given.

I've gone with McIlroy (Probably his best chance to win it, doesn't mean he will), Fowler (I can't stop backing him for majors until he finally wins one) and Hoffman (At 90/1, I thought he was over priced).

Dustin Johnson for me. For an outsider I think Matt Kuchars form can't be ignored.
Have also had an ew bet on Rose, Thomas and De Chambeau
