Disappointing we didn't qualify but you need to look at this with perspective

Agreed . And some others too like Ronan and  Coventry will be decent options hopefully going forward.

Yes if they beat Armenia and Sweden don't win in Italy.

Although that Armenia game may not be played.

Some interesting things to look at...several expected starters benched.
Coventry, Obafemi, O'Connor, Scales.

T O'Connor in the holding role?

Both Mandroiu and Ronan is very attacking.

It was always a ridiculous idea giving Kenny a gig that he was never going to be around to see through. Said before he got it that the 21s appointment was nearly more imporatnt than the next senior one. Wanted someone like Kenny or Lee Carsley to take ideally two terms but at least one through to qualfication and bring the team to a torunament to get that experience. Even in normal circumstances Kenny was gone before the end of the campaign even with the original fixture list being toploaded so most of our fixtures were early.

I think Kenny was doing a great job but long term bringing those players through and possibly the next group would have been more beneficial for the senior team.

Missed the first few mins as the VPN sorted itself but watched the rest.
Mostly workmanlike against an opponent we dominated.
This isn't a negative as our lineup was far from 1st choices.

Ronan sprayed it around well without creating much.
Mandroiu was a passenger.
Kayode looked OK and took the goal very well but looks a tad sluggish.
Leahy was bombing down the wing all night and looked dangerous.

Overall we only won by one and didn't create many chances but we took two of them and completely dominated the game.
Fair play to the players who picked themselves up from the bitter disappointment of Iceland.

Roll on the next campaign.
