The headline is a little mis-leading.

2 flights over to Armenia is not too bad.

3 on the way back is a little OTT in fairness and should have been avoided.

Exactly. It gets people outraged though which I believe is all the go at the moment.

It's the other way around. Three over (Dublin - London - Kiev - Yerevan) and two back (Yerevan - Moscow - Dublin).

However, it should be noted that a decent number of the squad play in England as it is, within easy reach of London. I'm not sure how many will be over to Dublin before the international break and how many will simply meet up in the airport in London. That would seem to be the sensible option.

If the majority of the players are taking two flights to Yerevan and two flights from there to Dublin, it isn't the worst imposition in the world. It might not be ideal but it's not a disaster. If the options are Ryanair from England to Dublin and a charter from Dublin to Yerevan, or a connecting flight on a commercial airline via Kiev, there isn't a huge amount of difference.

Is the correct answer. There's certainly one flight too many in this case, but spare the outrage, there probably isn't all that many international U21 teams flying via charter.

This isn't as unusual as it's made out to be, coming back from Kazachstan, several of us were on the same commercial flight as their senior team as far as Istanbul- they were going onward toward Sweden if I recall correctly. Not sure about their FA, but Kazachstan as a country is awash with Gas money. Many of us will have seen the Nordie U21's on their way out of, or back to Dublin in recent years too, depending on where they were off to, they certainly don't fly via charter either.

Our own senior team's plane had a refuelling stop in Germany (Cologne I think) on the way back from Georgia in 2017- D'Fai couldn't afford to charter a plane with a longer range to fly direct back to Ireland on that occasion.

You asked if I'd be anyone from history, fact or fiction, dead or alive:
I said "I'd be Tony Cascarino, circa 1995"

Can that Obafemi not spend one single minute on the pitch in injury time even without ripping up his hamstring or something?
