Andrews interview on OTB. Very honest in his assessment and interesting the effort they are putting in to the data through some German company using performance related KPIs where based on data our performances are improving and we should be doing better

According to our computer analytics, we are 3rd in the group and we are on target to finish 2nd. The team can bring that to the FAI meeting at the end of this campaign
It would damage this forums' reputation

They can bring whatever they like, but unless we start actually winning games then they will/should be told where to go.

Not surprising that they would resort to some random collection of data to justify their performance as they can't point to results like what every other manager in the game is judged off.

2 extremely winnable games left in the group and we should be winning both.

It sounded to me like that manager who says everything on the excel spreadsheet says things are going well but on the ground the place is falling apart.
Walters coming back from an offside position but Shane Long was definitely onside- Shane Lonnggggggg.... has done it!!!!

I was just saying it's interesting they are using that data and it's showing the KPIs are improving. He wasn't hiding behind it. He is disappointed in the results. They are questioning themselves did they do the right thing, say the right thing. Looking ahead at how to improve.
Of course if results continue to not go the right way then there comes a time when you need to ask the question if Kenny is the man to lead, is a different type or leader needed to build on what they started, etc. Do think they are saying all the right things and really trying. Let's see if it comes to fruition in the remaining games

To demonstrate the kind of standard we're up against these days, a Luxembourg player played and scored in the Bernabeu in the European Cup tonight.

Looks like the gauntlet has been thrown down for Robinson and Idah to better that, when he faces us, in Kenny's safe or sack 6 pointer in November.

Enjoyed Keef Andrews on Off the Ball.  Hope it works out for him and Kenny.  He seemed to indicate without saying that they felt a bit let down by Duff leaving.

My only issue with that interview was his insistence that the goal conceded at home to Azerbaijan wasn't a soft goal. It was, without question, preventable with a little bit of effort by Coleman.

Good interview and good to hear him not be dismissive of the bad results either.

Indeed, I seem to remember being castigated when I pointed out that Sheriff and Luxembourg's Thill was playing at a higher level than any of our lads, then he goes and scores the winner at the Bernabeu! Smile

Another Lux lad played for Young Boys as they beat United on Day 1.

Only 2 of the Sheriff starting line-up last night played against Dundalk. They had 11 Moldovans in the squad back then compared to just 4 now because the Moldovan FA relaxed the rules on foreign players. The club is also being used as a front for money laundering so I wouldn’t be talking up Dundalk’s achievement too much as the past and current teams bear no comparison.
