It is all subjective. For example, I would say the term  'beyond cringe' is, well, exactly that!

Well I am sure the Swedish healthcare system is much better than the HSE so he is in good hands as such LOL. From what I am reading it doesn't sound too serious thankfully

Kenny might not seem like the best communicator with the media, but from his team's performances, it's clear that his communication skills within the dressing room are far superior to previous managers.

Hopefully the illness is nothing too serious.

He's just not a natural on camera. Big deal. Listen to how his players and former players speak of him. He's clearly excellent at communicating to his players how he wants them to play football

think he repeats himself constantly on camera and picks a word he's going to say 20 times through the interview, but he clearly knows how to communicate to the players and thats the main thing

Surely there's some type of media course professional sports people go on so they can address the media in a professional manner.

Why? So he can give the same platitudes and cliches as everyone else?

Comes across very well on Eamon Dunphy’s podcast from a few months back.

Itll matter if results dont immediatley go his way (which they more than likey wont) and the heat gets ramped up by media (which it will).  He's not great at times in front of camera and its something he should be working on, if hes not all ready.  Just to protect himself if nothing else.

Exactly. Both Staunton and MON were absolute car crashes when it came to interviews as well so it's not like we've some fine pedigree of managers handling the media like seasoned PR executives. If he can get results no-one is going to give a flying fook.

There are and those people come across as robotic w**kers. I'd rather Kenny just be the way he is in front of a camera. Not turn into another Jim Gavin.

I never interpreted Kenny's camera interviews as "awkward". I think what we're seeing is someone who's quite thoughtful, someone who's trying to avoid bullsh!t answers. I also think his mind moves fast, and it maybe a case that his mouth can't keep up.

Not football related, but I've seen some interviews with Hollywood writer Aaron Sorkin. For someone with a way with words, he seems to struggle to string a sentence together in interviews. You can tell his brain is running a mile a minute, and isn't in sync with his gob.
