They only scored a penalty

Every time Dougal gets mentioned I think of Phil Neal's facial expressions in the England dugout in Poland in May 1993.

[QUOTE]

Have you seen the video?  How do you know it was anti-English? A video about Irish history is obviously going to reflect badly on England, that doesn't need explanation surely.

[QUOTE]

In that case the very existance of the Irish state is anti english...not sure where to go with that really...beginning to wonder if supporting ireland will  be considered offensive soon.

If at one point supporting ireland is considered offensive, it will act as both the crime and the punishment.

Murph if you read it all I have done is say that the video has been shown to be a bottle of smoke as was used as a means for Mick loyalists to attempt to damage Kenny. It has been shown that those within the camp do not have any issue with the video and in fact some supported it and helped create the video.  Kenny should get a campaign like any other manager would.  It’s clear that others have an agenda here, mind is just fair play is given to Kenny like it would be to any other manager.

Did the Nations League results carry as much weight as they did for O'Neill as they do for Kenny?

I would say yes but for different reasons. One was coming to the end of his tenure and the other one was only starting his.

The NL fixtures should carry the same weight anyway in terms of significance given these are technically competitive games and should be treated as such. Wales have a world cup playoff more or less guaranteed and Scotland could've had one if they didn't blow their NL campaign when they were in a strong position.
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

have heard a few people say that the biggest error Kenny has made is that he doesn’t play golf.

I completely get the reasoning behind that but I disagree,

I think the Nations League should be treated as a platform for experimenting more than anything! Be it blooding new players, trying new formations, positional tweaks etc all to a point mind! I wouldn't be advocating that we throw out a whole new 11 every game or anything.

More so having 6 or 7 regulars supplying experience and then be supplemented by either young players or some potentially new additions to international football.

Any manager given the choice would be more inclined to give Idah or Parrott a sustained run in the Irish team in the Nations League over a World Cup or European Qualifier imo anyway.

I know it's more acceptable to experiment in a NL campaign as opposed to a WC campaign but given the fact Ireland will always struggle to qualify outright in a WC campaign, then we have to treat the NL in similar terms.

If we continue to remain in League B then there is an incentive for Ireland to top their group within it as it will most likely result in a potential playoff spot for a WC/Euros unless some of the top seeds in League A have a disastrous qualifying campaign.

I don't think we have the luxury of experimenting too much in any NL tbh. You could also make the argument that it may be easier to top your group in the NL than in the following year's qualifying group for a major tournament especially if you get a tough draw.

seems a split in the old journalism fraternity. Many of the ones who like golf and wouldn’t be a million miles away from retirement seem to be running anti Kenny stories and possibly getting their info from Mick loyalists.

The younger journalists seem to be much more in the camp of give Kenny time to get a Craic at the job.

If it was not this situation I guarantee you the bollox (bolloxes) involved would have found some other situation that did not suit them to have a pop at the new management team, an absolute nothing story that had 1 great outcome, Alan old FAI Kelly had no option but to skulk away, SK will now be able to have whatever video or speech he wants in meetings without worrying about some low life rat skulking off to a paymaster and stirring sh*te.

Kelly wasn't the one who leaked it to the Daily Mail, that was an FAI staff member purposefully trying to get Kenny out, nothing to do with Kelly. That staff member is still there Angry
It would damage this forums' reputation

Ye; interesting. The root cause of all this could all be dealt with very quick with a shake up in the FAI Senior staff team but change seems to be non existent.

Cathal Dervan dropped by Kenny for November matches.. Mick and Kelly’s mate and Delaney puppet.

So Lennon in the star is going after him big time now! I wonder did Coleman tell him he was treated disgracefully?
