Hard to disagree is Idah the guy to score 15 goals this season and fire them to safety. Big leap of faith. Tbf Sargent is himself a young attacker who's come from Germany he won't be the guy. Norwich should have signed Armstrong/a more experienced ready made marksman but they had a transfer window with a view not to surviving this year but to be sure they are good to go back up in 22/23. Tzolis Sargent Rashika Lees Melou the Greek LB who's name eacpaes me. Not to mention the two Irish boys and Mumba. They will be in very good shape to go straight back up next year. Cantwell and Aarons I suspect will be sold then. Most Norwich fans think like us that Idah is a decent prospect still a pup at 20 who's development has been handled poorly. He really should have been put out on loan this year as opposed to Hugill even to a League 1 team like Parrott is with although he'd play regularly for plenty Championship teams. |

Sargent is piss poor at PL level anyway. Disconcerting that Farke has him ahead of Idah......

Sargent is older and has 2 full seasons playing for Werder Bremen in Germany on his CV as well as 19 caps for the US. He's more experienced and was signed for relatively big money by Norwichs standards hence he's ahead of Idah. Not massively disconcerting with that context. Like I said it's more annoying they didn't leave Idah go out on loan for a year to play regularly and really develop. As it stands it's hardly a bad thing both him or Omobamidele ain't playing as Norwich aren't playing well. If they continue to not play well Idah might get a run/his chance again from the start of a game.

Even if Duffy wasn't there on the cover I don't think the ball would have made it to the goal line. One of the more pathetic misses I've ever seen in the PL. Hopefully just a matter of time before Idah gets a proper chance.

Omobamidele would be a gem of a signing for someone. |

he is one of a few of our players that need a move in January.
No player not playing regularly should be considered for selection

wait to see if Farkes inevitable replacement plays him. Can't believe he hasn't given even one PL start to Idah when the others are self evidently not pulling up any trees.

Can't see Farke getting the sack. They were sh*t the last time they came up too but he's won back to back championships when they've been there. They'd be silly to sack someone they know can get them promoted as they're a yo yo club more or less. |

I feel the likely scenario for Norwich and idah is that he'll stay as a sub until January where Norwich will likely look for a forward that will give them the best chance of survival. I would speculate that this would be an experienced player from another league. They clearly don't see idah as the solution to their forward option yet and demonstrate that by not even trying him. Idah has barely scored a goal at any senior level so I don't think it's unreasonable to say he's not good enough yet. Id say that idah will likely go on loan in January to a championship team and it will take time for him to find his feet in much the same way a parrott. People seem dead set to put some unrealistic expectations on this lad for some reason based on no evidence.

Norwich relegated already. New striker or not.
How can a team win the championship in consecutive seasons they are in it yet be so terrible in the premier League?

Ah come on now, theres still another 29 games and theyre just 5pts from safety. They've a decent squad, as good as Watford anyway who are mid table, they just need a new manager with new ideas. Farke has taken them as far as he can. Unless they're happy with the current cycle of relegation and promotion.

Norwich's business model is as a yo-yo club. They're happy with their parachute payments. They'll be lucky to get off the bottom never mind avoid relegation. An awful team.

The PL is a brutal business masquerading as sport. Huge gulf between it and the Championship, which is a very good standard league but short of the superhuman level above fuelled by the limitless riches of oligarchs and sociopathic regimes generally. Unless the yo-yo clubs find a sugar daddy or the system that pertains is subject to overthrow, there will be no change.

What do Norwich do with all their parachute payments and TV money from the years they’re in the PL? They could surely sign a few decent players to give themselves a fighting chance of staying up one of these seasons?
