Fantastic, him and Omobamidele. Would love to see them put in two solid performances today.

Doherty on now for Spurs, probably the first time 3 Irish players have all been on the pitch at same time in the Premier League this season too.

Sargent missed a great chance at least.

His only 2 starts this season are against Tottenham and Liverpool. He could've had easier tasks in fairness.

Norwich will be shopping for a new striker in January I'd say.

He done only OK today, created a great chance for Pukki in opening few minutes where got turned out wide right played a nice 1-2 and squared a cross into the box for Pukki to hit it straight at the keeper.

Other than that there was only a half chance where he tried to get a toe on the end of shot from Pukki that was going wide to redirect it in but could only hit it wide of the mark.

Made a couple of decent runs but frustratingly found himself offside half a dozen times.

First touch was a bit heavy on occasions too.

Still a very raw player, really needs a run of games to improve his all round game.

And it was only his 6th ever start for Norwich. Has 10 starts for Ireland.

At the very least they'll be recalling Hugill from West Brom. Could see Idah go the other way, but I'd imagine they'd want someone more experienced.

I read a few other clubs are also looking for a striker in January - Blackburn, Middlebrough, Swansea, Bournemouth

You're really downplaying that chance his missed, he got much more than a toe, he got a clean side foot and missed horribly from 6 yards. Harder to miss as they say

Idah was the best of Norwich's strikers. Pukki was very quiet and the lad Sargent that came on for Idah was so bad when given a chance he ended up kicking the ball into his self when picking it up in the opposition area.

If Idah can get a run of games I am confident the goals will come.lad is so raw but has such huge talent. Let's judge him in 3-4 years when he fully develops

The test will come now in the next game and we'll see if the manager sticks with him in the starting line up. They have two home games next, Man Utd and Aston Villa. Hopefully Idah gets the nod again and gets a chance to stake a claim for a starting place.

Might be better if he's dropped for the United game and they do terribly. He's on a hiding to nothing if he plays against them but if he's reinstated for the Villa game he could impose himself against that defense.

I'm just thinking back to how he struggled the last time he started against United in the League; he couldn't get into the game at all.

Sargent is as poor a striker as you will see at that level so if Idah can't get in ahead of him on the regular then he will have to drop down a level.

Lads are being harsh on Sargent here. He's basically Idah but a year or two older. Tzolis who they also paid money for is talented too. All 3 lads have caps for USA Greece and Ireland respectively Sargent has double figures in caps.

All 3 have the same problem they are young attackers and like pretty much every young attacker are inconsistent. It's ruthlessly exposed in the PL unfortunately where the pressure to be consistent is huge. Norwich will stroll the Championship next year with the above lads and Puuki as ammunition a slightly lower level where Sargent might get 3 chances instead of the 1 he missed yesterday for example. Idah likewise.

Idah played okay yesterday I thought on the whole there's a potentially fabulous player in him but like many strikers of his type it may take him time to learn the craft of target man. Playing regularly will help big show of faith from Smith to play him yesterday and you would hope he might get some bit of a run now.

I was at the game.

Apart from one very early intervention, Idah did nothing of note in the first half. Tbf, that was essentially because Norwich were creating nothing, meaning that even Pukki, who's decent, struggled to make an impact.

He did a bit better in the second half, when Norwich showed a bit of invention, but  he never really troubled a Spurs back three made up of Sanchez, Dier and Davies, which must say something! And when Idah's big chance came, he scuffed it. It was no great surprise when he came off, since Smith was never going to take Pukki off. (Mind you hiis replacement, Sergent, reminded me of a labrador dog running around in the park - enthusiiastic but clueless LOL)

I am in no position to judge Idah's future potential - the fact that he's even on the fringe at Norwich at his age must be encouraging.

But for the moment, imo he's raw and a long way out of his depth in the PL, surely made worse by playing in a struggling team.
