Troy Parrott

He played well, missed a good chance alright but some of the criticism is way OTT. The composure he showed for the offside goal would suggest he can finish, and that it's a matter of consistency rather than ability.

Decent performance, a promising player and a good option and worthy starter. But he really has to do better with that chance. Shane Long v Germany (in a more important game) springs to mind as one where we really needed the goal and there was a break which gave the striker a little time to think and Long tucked it away. Parrott made a bad go of that, a really bad one.

Parrott is easily quick enough to be a top striker. I don't think pace is the biggest question mark over him.

Parrott is easily quick enough to be a top striker. I don't think pace is the biggest question mark over him. Scholes started as a striker and moved to an 8 I see TP as a potentially very useful 8
