He played well, missed a good chance alright but some of the criticism is way OTT. The composure he showed for the offside goal would suggest he can finish, and that it's a matter of consistency rather than ability.

Laughable, some of the comments in here.

20 years old. He will come good for us. We’ve seen glimpses.

Decent performance, a promising player and a good option and worthy starter. But he really has to do better with that chance. Shane Long v Germany (in a more important game) springs to mind as one where we really needed the goal and there was a break which gave the striker a little time to think and Long tucked it away. Parrott made a bad go of that, a really bad one.

He has all the ability and potential for the present and future and that miss was composure rather than technique in the locker so hopefully he recovers and pots chances like those forever more.

He's slow.
And not prolific.

Could still be a decent player for us but he has limitations which mean he won't live up to the initial hype.

He's not slow and he's not prolific at senior level yet!

Also thought he was quite good barring the miss. Some good link up with Obafemi, good hold up play and layoffs for Knight. Won a couple of frees. I think he’s the most intelligent footballer of all our current forward options and wouldn’t drop him in favour of an Ogbene-Obafemi partnership.

I'd keep him in against Armenia anyway. Playing both Obafemi and Ogbene against a team that are obviously going to sit in from minute 1 doesn't seem like the way to go.

Robbie Keane wasn't the quickest either. Parrott is easily quick enough to be a top striker. I don't think pace is the biggest question mark over him.

Scholes started as a striker and moved to an 8

I see TP as a potentially very useful 8

I'd sway towards benching him for 2 reasons 1) to protect him and 2) we can't afford not to take our chances and he simply isn't in goal scoring form atm and I think it showed last night, Ogbene is scoring goals regularly!

Probably safe to say you’re the only person on the planet who sees that

This argument has been had before - there are literally countless examples.

He had the ball in the net yesterday only he was offside.
He has scored a few big goals for us already at his young age.
He will be kicking himself he mistimed the shot but he doesn't need to be protected he just needs another chance.
I can see the arguments to bring in Ogbene who has also scored goals for us and at club level but it would change the dynamic of the way Kenny has us set up.
If it was just about goals at club level then Scott hogan would be playing more regularly for us

I personally wouldn't be betting my future on him right now, given his season to date. I can see both sides, but I think the prudent call is to bench him. I rate him, but he's out of form in front of goal right now.
