Who cares? Well if you don't care it's a slippery slope through apathy into cynicism and a nihilistic collusion with organize crime - people who will kill to promote their own material gain. It's a dark way of life and someone who we want to see express themselves on a football pitch, who needs to be physically mentally and spiritually on song to do so should not be associating with these scum.

Well yes, I care if he’s not doing it on the pitch. There’s been players with serious talent or potential over the years who have screwed up their careers by not having the right attitude or mixing with the wrong people. This has been seen by underage players with Ireland over the years (not having right attitude) and they never made it. Look at Morrison who used okay with united - mixing with wrong people according to fergie is the reason he never made it. And he was rated seriously high with talent. Re attitude, look at Connolly at moment for us. Parrott will never reach his potential in my opinion - but I hope I’m wrong, but can’t see it. Going to p!ss away his talent

That's exactly what we need. Our most promising player hanging out with an international drug cartel with a large number of murders behind them.....

Morrison didn't make it because he's a scumbag. Many players are friends with lads they've known since childhood but have dodgy connections and turned out alright, but scum will always be scum like Morrison and Ranger. I'd rather Parrott didn't associate with them, not because it might derail his career, but you just know MTK will be looking to worm their way into football like they have with boxing. Probably gonna be easie |

A few decent footballers had bogey mates. Maradona and Higuita spring to mind. It’s a bit of an unwelcome distraction for Parrott, he just needs to keep the head down and work hard.

Exactly. In fairness to Parrott, there's no indication that his social life and company he keeps is affecting his football. Kenny seems to be happy with his work rate anyway. No point getting too pent up about his football career or his conduct when nothing has happened yet.

You could make a list long enough of lads just from Merseyside. Rooney, Gerrard, and I think Barton has family in jail for murder. Carragher tells a story in his book how a couple of his mates wanted to kick the sh*t out of Lucas Neill for him. Only Carragher wouldn't give the go ahead in the end because at the time Neill was with David Thompson who was an ex teammate and friend of Carraghers. Edited by J89 - 20 Jun 2021 at 9:02pm |

Gerrard has had his history with gangsters, including the late John Kinsella, who shot George " The Psycho " Bromley in the face for harassing the then Liverpool captain. Gerrard's father provided a reference for Kinsella in a court case, however he managed to evade a lengthy sentence by absconding. Rooney has had his links to other underworld heavies. Parrott is carrying on this tradition, it appears, of footballers from rough working class areas attracting nasty criminal elements from a similar background who no doubt see themselves in a similar light-one of superficial glamour, feted by contemporaries who regard them as successful and wealthy local lads who have risen to the top of their professions in a competitive and often ruthless environment.

I genuinely have a problem with a guy who openly associates with these people representing our national team.

Take it easy ffs I'm sure some if not most of us on here socialized or drank with criminals/drug dealers/dodgy coonts at some point in our lives especially if we grew up with them. I wouldn't approve of the company he seemingly keeps but he's 19 years old ffs and is entitled to have some bit of a private life. As long as it's not affecting his football and Kenny's happy with his conduct, there's no need to be condemning the lad as a tramp. Edited by irishmufc - 21 Jun 2021 at 1:44pm |

Yeah don't really care who he pals around with. Some people are born into areas or families where people around them are involved in criminality. As long as he keeps himself focused mostly on football and being the best he can be then that's all that we as fans can really ask for.

very difficult do avoid these types if you are from the inner city , personally whilst i would not be seen dead with those types he isn't the first and certainly won't be the last , you look who stokes associated with back in the day it was every bit as bad , i have also seen stuff more recently about who Scott Browne has associated with in the past according to the tabloids.

Whatever about whom he is pictured, surely somebody has advised him not to be pictured with these lads. Yet he's pictured with them anyway. That concerns me a little bit with regards to his ability to learn from his mistakes, particularly when he probably made plenty mistakes in his first full season of senior football.
