Id rather be a Kane then say an Owen with killer pace as pace will abandon you.

Id worry for the likes of Obafemi.

Exactly. Hence the hype around him is OTT.

Overwhelming likelihood is he'll be an average player.

The top strikers may not be Michael Owen quick but most are still very fast. Shearer was much more potent prior to injuries he was much quicker.

Speed kills.

still fast though

I know people moan about using Football Manager as a basis for comparison but it basically says Parrot has marginally higher pace than Kane. I wouldn't call Kane fast.

Owen - YES
Ferdinand
Sherringham
Kane
RVP
JFH
Roberto Keane

Some had great pace over short distances: Aguero, Fowler etc

But Shearer, Rooney, Teddy, Robbie Big Les etc were not super fast.

Game is far more about physical attributes now though. I'm not sure all of those on that list would make it now

Kane nowhere near the player he is know at 18. To say Parrott wont make it a big club at this stage is ridiculous.

Cole, Aguero, Fowler, Defoe, Ferdinand, and Keane all had pace too, at least over a short distance. Rooney was extremely fast too, especially in his youth, I'd actually argue it was the loss of that explosive power that led to his dramatic decline.

Sheringham is probably the only outright "slow" player on that list, which says something.

And Teddy wasn't really a striker. A proper 10. A class act who would still be at a high level today.

Kane is very much an anomaly.
David Connolly was seen as the next big thing in the 90s.

yeah he is back at Spurs which didn’t sound too good. Obviously a bad enough injury.

Stokes has 4 league titles, Scottish Cups with Celtic and Hibs, and League Cups.

He's played in the CL and EL too.

Parrott has a nice watch.
