An hour in the library followed by a pint has certainly not done me any harm so far. A pint always tastes better than a bottle or can.

Hey PM, now dust has settled how you getting on,

This probably wasn't the best place to have been discussing it, it was more a cowardly way of looking for virtual hugs and attention than talking to people and the gargle had certainly dimmed me brain, as someone once said!
I'm a bit better, but the same problems remain as do the same lack of solutions. I haven't really been out of the house for a week, so I'm about to put that right. Meeting a friend, so will end up in a pub, but at least it won't be suicidal drinking.
Thanks for the support and sorry for coming across as a **** to anyone, particularly NVidic.

If you cant vent here where can you vent, your amongst friends. its not easy opening up to even your closest friends about your feelings and thoughts as they are yours and who would understand, but throwing out a thread here is less exposing i suppose, glad your feeling a bit better
Yeah, something like that! Bottles of Guinnes for breakfast, not long after finishing up from the night before, probably didn't help my decision making.  I think herself thought that I was just being "a drunken twat" rather than needing some guidance or assistance and my own guilt and embarrassment were such that I wasn't going to try and tell her otherwise. Even worse, she was putting it down to Exeter City!
It's just daunting being 38 soon and unemployed and fairly unemployable, especially as I keep putting principles before priority.
In saying that, without this lockdown it would never have come to this and that's frustrating in itself

38 is the new 28.

I enjoy your loathing of all things Dublin. Knowing it coincided with the rise of Heffo's army (purely coincidental I'm sure) makes it understandable LOL

I pride myself on my knowledge of Irish republican and left-wing history, but that one is beyond me. They could have had my full support though.

That’s a tragic story of the lad in Cavan who took his own life after a lifetime of bullying

Saw it on PrimeTime the other night, every parent's worst nightmare. You'd hope you'd be able to spot the signs but with phones it's so much easier to hide the bullying.

Worse because they knew it was going on and tried to do something. Poor younglad. I don't know what anti bully practises that schools have in place but it should be a very open subject in school with channels for people to report it, anonymously if needed. We all know that 'ratting' on someone can bring even worse misery for the bullied.
I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.

That PrimeTime Episode should be shown to all School Children on a regular basis.
