One of my best Christmases from a mental health point of view this year, made a lot of personal changes since 2018, that are paying dividends this year.
It used to be the toughest time of the year for me thankfully things seem brighter now.

For anyone struggling take PM's advice.

Small bit extreme, I don't think I could survive without whatsapp, I'd have no one to talk to but removing oneself from whatsapp groups isn't a bad idea, for me its one of the things that as really helped LOLLOL Those groups can be poison, its like being in a pub 24/7 with the lads, sometimes you just need a break from them

Pleased to hear that another depressing one here it's a lot of years since I've enjoyed the festive season.

If I were stuck a permanent conversation with PM and Sham, I'd feel like I would need a break too. LOL

On the more serious note. I'm okay (thanks for nice words DM) The Boxing training is keeping me steady if I'm not there then I'm hitting the Jamesons.. Was out Saturday and literally drank the bar dry until they ran out of stock and feeling quite rough from it LOL

Only thing bothering me atm is work giving me sh*t for taking some time off. I'll deal with them t**sers when I'm ready to but it's still bothering me, probably a hint I should start looking elsewhere.

Was in brutal form in the lead up to Christmas this year it came from nowhere too as was doing ok for a few months before it. Christmas went off ok was quiet spent most of it at home just.

My drinking over it has increased though which isn't a good thing and the lads in the WhatsApp group got a small glimpse of that saturday night as I use my drinking to forget everything else and don't stop until that happens Ouch
the closest i will ever come to playing for ireland https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0_7w4JyvI4

I'm sure it's a very anxious time probably worse than Christmas time if alone.

I really do fear that suicides are going to rocket because of this pandemic, be sure to keep an eye on friends and family at this time - it can be very lonely.

This post is so true unfortunately, please reach out by phone or any other means you can to anybody you might know who is a bit vulnerable at the best of times, it can really help Thumbs Up

When people talk about the need for self isolation loneliness can be overlooked.

Yeah, it must be torture if your head is f**ked and you are stuck at home alone. It is unlikely anybody does, but send a pm if anybody just wants to talk bollocks and feel less isolated.

There will be and there is a lot of learning to come out of this, we cancelled op appointments, but offered telephone support which i have been doing since being on social isolation for over a week now, had the test yesterday so fingers crossed, anecdotally even amongst our most stressed people, they have been incredibly grateful and more importantly resilient with the right advice in dealing with this, we have had no suicides, and self harm admissions to both our general hospitals have decreased by 50%, we will see
ITS KEANE YES
