Yeah was quite embarrassing alright, I like Idris Elba as an actor but he was trying to be a comedian last night which he is not.

There was a few funny parts though.

1) The total bewilderment by the majority the audience to Noel Gallagher, Ronaldo and Cafu looked like they didn't have a clue who he was.

2) The uproar over Salah winning best goal ,I'd imagine the entire population of Egypt (98m) voted for him so was no real surprise.

3) Personally I found a bloke winning the Women's Coach of the year funny

So is this now the main world player of the year award?
What's happened to the ballon d'or which used to be announced in January?

Still going, awarded by France Football, they merged it with FIFA's awards for a few years but that's stopped now.

The Ballon D'Or was always awarded by France Football magazine since the 50s.

It merged for a while with FIFA and has now reverted back.

Joke.

And Cortois, Lloris and Schmichel are the top 3 keepers but De Gea gets in the World XI.

Great to see Boban in tears when Modric won.

More the fact that they chose this charlatan at all, rather than any issues with his opinion. They may as well have asked Neil Francis or Ian O'Doherty.
