Great move for Dunne hes at the age now he needs to kick on and Preston would be a good move. Playing 3 at the back too and they are not littered with centre half’s so he should be starting from the off I’m suspecting Jack Storey will miss out. Dunne has potential you may see him sign for a promotion chasing Championship in 3 years time if he kicks on which I think he will. With Burnley breaking a transfer record for Collins I doubt they will splash 15m on another one.

Swansea now reported to be in for Jimmy Dunne, interest from Preston has faded after they signed a couple of other new centre backs. Swansea would be the better move-a mainly young team on the up, well managed and well run, they made the play-offs last two seasons and likely to be amongst the main contenders again.

Decent move for him. Probably not so much for Conor Masterson but he was probably going to have to go out on loan to get decent game time anyway.

We already have Conor Masterson who is battling for a CB slot at QPR. Might not be great for him if Dunne arrives in also. Masterson was a real prospect for us when he was at Liverpool but he hasnt kicked on at all....

Probably doesn't bode well for Masterson then.

In fairness, neither played huge amounts of football last year. If Dunne is coming in as a starter, that's a positive.

He chose to go, he was offered a new contract at Burnley but would not have played much. I'm assuming he must be guaranteed a certain number of first team games at QPR as they have a couple of established centre backs. Masterson picked up an injury on loan to Swindon last season that cost him valuable experience. He may well go out on loan again now.

Burnley offered him a contract so they will get a small amount in terms of a development fee. Probably a couple of hundred thousand at most.

Is there much competition ahead of Jimmy Dunne to get into the starting team or will he get many chances this season?

Jordy de Wiigs a Dutch center half started in front of him last Saturday, QPR play 3 center backs so I expect him to play a lot this season. He's playing well tonight, up to him to force his way into the team.
