I thought they were doing better than that , shame.

Think the 8-0 and 6-0 batterings from Dundalk and Derry killed off any casual support and the off the field stuff with the social media lad who works with the club, the people who own the markets field and few volunteers had falling out with the club just meant it's been a sh*t show even before the sh*t really hit the fan.

Fans were complaining about the lack of signings before Christmas and the weird price increase they done and one lad texted the club to say it's now gonna cost him €50 plus to bring his family and in a polite way was more or less told to f**k off and don't bother showing up and he was  also replying back to other comments using sarcastic memes while posting with club's official Facebook/Twitter page.

Would say that went down well with the support.

Hopefully the club can survive this shambles.

Every club who doesn't live within their means  is at risk  Its Limerick and Bray now it could be Shamrock and Dundalk soon, that would be a much bigger threat to the league. We need a 50+1 German style rule.

1) Fine them money, sure the club has no money.
2) Dock them points, sure the club's finishing last anyway and probably have no players to fulfil a fixture anyway.
3) Throw them out of the league, club will probably fold anyway in the next couple of weeks.

Take over the club themselves/ rule the Mulvey's unfit to run the club and suspend them - they're the big issue here.

Shamblolic stuff and the letter I seen on Twitter from last year signed by Mulvey about his plans for the Carlisle Grounds is desperate stuff. Angry

And will they take over Limerick too? And what happens if Athlone go to the wall next month or Sligo, will they take over all four clubs? The LOI is a basket case and there's not much you can do to punish clubs that literally have nothing whether, clubs living week to week more or less. Bray will probably go bust (imo it's what the owners probably want so they can do a deal with the council for the land) and doubt there owners will be back ever again and Limerick will be amateur next year in the style of Wexford.

You'd hope that with the talks of a new company being created to run the league so it's not being done fully by the FAI that people are in the background now trying to put stuff into place to prevent stuff like this from happening again or if it does happen again putting penalties in place for clubs like any club that fails to pay its players will only be granted a licence the following season on amateur terms. That's about the only punishment imo because in a league with no money and so few clubs that you can't afford to lose anyone there's not much punishments to dish out.

We'll they could take them over/render them unfit and have the precious people who ran the club back in there. These are the same people who caused trouble at Pats

Better to target the people than the club.

Fair play to the players, whether monies owed for June are paid they'll be back here again in August with no pay for this month either.

With Cork playing in Warsaw tonight it's hard not to look on and be extremely jealous.

There is obviously many factors at play but there should be no reason at all we couldn't run a club like Cork do and be able to compete in the top half of the league if we got our sh*t together. Football is huge in Limerick and a successful team will bring that bandwagon in and we could hopefully convert them to long term fans.

But the way this season has gone I don't know what to think anymore. One disappointment after another. Even if we do manage to stay up in the relegation playoff, we wont get a licence for next year and back to the first division again.
