It was all JACC Sports fault for not having the gear there on time.

Mick made mistakes. Should have done things behind closed doors man to man.

Agreed, although I’m sure he was pretty f**king exasperated with it all by that stage.

Keane was, and will always be, wrong.

No manager in the world then or since would accept Keane's behaviour and toxic rant. He was a national embarrassment. Fair play to McCarthy and the players for salvaging some pride from the tournament. They got on with it.

Skipped the 2nd leg due to injury but managed to play a full game 2 days later. Do me a favour in the words of the man himself.

As stated Keane said he was injured yet I saw an interview with him recently where he said Fergie didnt want him playing any games for The EIRE and would constantly try to get him to withdraw from squads.

We all know Fergie made him pull out of the away  leg and it nearly cost us.

If you look at articles around that time they all say his knee wasnt right. They say he was to see a specialist that week after the 1st leg. Plus they all have quotes from Mick saying his knee wasnt ok. Easy to find.

But can sacrifice one of the biggest games in our history to play against Leicester 2 days later.

Must have been some recovery methods at United.

Himself, Neville and Richards did a WC preview for SkyBet and he spoke about it. It's the most animated I've seen him speak about Ferguson trying to stop him playing for us.

Even if that is true. Is it good management to throw that at a player in front of his team mates.  No.  Keane was bang out of order but Mick also showed he didn’t have the skill sets for managing a world class talent who can tough to manager.

Your analogy has higher standards that his manger and is getting no where with raising the issues.  Keane drove far more changes in standards than mick did. That’s not a healthy situation as it leads to the player acting like he is the manager.  McCarthy should have been well ahead of this months ago.  But Keane was also bang out of order with his interviews sl*gging players on eve of World Cup.  Like Ronaldo with Piers Morgan.

Exactly, can't stand the fella. Although, I think that was him doing the impressions on the argument bit during the show but could be wrong

I totally agreed with the lad that said something along the lines of "people were either pro Keane (usually Cork/Man U fans) or anti Keane, and nobody changed their mind".

Do people agree with the comment at the end that Ireland played better than they would have with Keane? That it motivated them?

Enjoyed the show, however I wish they skipped the hypothetical nonsense regarding us reaching the final.

I like both Mccarthy and Keane, and Keane was out of order however Mccarthy could have listened more in years previous with relation to diet / preparation etc from the treble winning captain of Man United. I think Mccarthy should have buried his feelings on the Iran second leg, what was he doing bring them up in Saipan i cannot understand, talk about picking your battles.
