Agreed. His analysis & knowledge are top notch in fairness. Really knows his stuff
Would actually love to see him given some sort of role in sorting out underage football in the country

Lost count of the number of times Hamilton called the wrong player last night

I can't remember if George is actually any good or not, he's been there so long it would seem strange to listen to a match on RTE without him. But his accuracy at identifying players does seem to be slipping.

Not gone on the co-commentators, Beglin would be half decent if he stopped trying to be funny, the Examiner's Larry Ryan once asked a philosophical question on Ray 'here's what he should have done' Houghton's commentary which was 'If every player did what Ray thought they should have done, would the match finish nil all or ten all ?' which sums him up, but as grumpy and annoying as Houghton can be, Ronnie Whelan is a miserablist of the highest order, it seems every game he is on is the worst he has ever seen judging by the tone and pointing out poor play at every opportunity.

Not saying he should be doing a Sky on it and telling us that West Ham nil, Sunderland nil on a Monday night is the best game anyone has ever seen, but jaysus he is meant to be telling us some of the good stuff (and there has been plenty of that in this WC) as well as the bad stuff.

Yeah he had it down to a tee!

I like him, wish he had a bit more personality but overall he’s a very good addition.

Not a big fan of Darragh as a presenter but he always really struggles to hide how against England he is. That makes me warm to him.

Maloney is better than him too. Pougatch is one of those new 'matey' presenters that act like an uncle that thinks they are down with the kids and great 'bantz'.

Maloney is sh*te I think.  Too wooden and non controversial.  Doesn't stir the pot like Bill.

English coverage is sh*te too but ITV's has improved and has overtaken the BBC with their trendy bar dress code and studio.

Des Lynam and Steve Rider and Elton Welsby would be turning in their graves if they were dead
I wasn't saying Maloney was good, more a criticism of Pougatch.
Rosenthal was great, liked his grandson in Friday Night Dinner too.

Tom is his Son
f**k! Thought he was too old to have a son that age! I thought he was seventy in 1989!

Where ya seeing that? Find it hard to believe he'd miss the biggest game of the year

It's on the RTE TV listings.
I'd say that's a typo, Pougatch is the ITV anchor, he'll be doing the final for them I'd imagine

The worst thing about ITVs coverage is that creepy bastard Gabriel Clarke. He isn't sure if he's presenting a report from the England camp or a murder mystery suspense show the way he gets on.

Think he went back to his job of being The Count on Sesame Street.

Missed Hope Solo. She must have only done 1 or 2 games while I was away.  Any good?

She wasn't bad. It's odd she only did 2 matches.
