evens for teams like Germany and Brazil to reach the semi's look tempting to put a decent bet on
Romario 2016: And the ticket mafia gets caught! Well, four years ago I had already told the government.

What odds are they individually? On PP that comes out at 17/1 (10/11, evens, 11/10, 6/5)

My fancies:

Brazil to win it 4/1

Lukaku top scorer 16/1
Mbappe top scorer 33/1

Neymar player of the tournament 7/1

Argentina to exit at the group stages (not sure of price)

Todays opening game to be 0-0

I really think Neymar is a great bet to win the golden ball.

Fifa want him, Messi or Ronaldo to win it so whichever team goes the furthest wins it.
Much better value than Brazil to win it.

I’ve done Lukaku too at 18-1.

That’s a good shout for tonight. The opening games are normally sh1te.

This got me thinking so I researched a little.

2014: Brazil 3 - 1 Croatia
2010: SA 1 - 1 Mexico
2006: Germany 4 - 2 Costa Rica
2002: France 0 - 1 Senegal
1998: Brazil 2 1 Scotland
1994: Germany 1 - 0 Bolivia
1990: Argentina 0 - 1 Cameroon
1986: Bulgaria 1 - 1 Italy
1982: Argentina 0 - 1 Belgium
1978: Germany 0 - 0 Poland

So you have to go back to 1978 to find the first opening 0-0 game.

So it was only from 2006 onwards that the hosts always played first? Never knew that.

Must be the worst opening game in history looking at that list.

Don't know what to do for tonight, in normal circumstances I'd think the Saudi's are a great price but hard to see them win against the host country in the opening game especially when the host country is the most corrupt in the world.

Certainly the least appetizing opener I can remember on paper.

Then again, that's what I thought about the Euro 2012 opener between Poland and Greece - and it turned out to be a decent enough game with plenty going on.  There may not have been much quality (there certainly wasn't from the referee who sent off a Greek defender for the 2 softest yellow cards you'll ever see in your life LOL) but it wasn't anywhere near as dull as it looked on paper.

We can only hope for something similar today.
The nation holds it's breath...YES, WE'RE THERE!!!
