If he's offside he's offside. There is no debating it.

No doubting that without VAR the goal would stand. Just because your not happy with the decision doesn't mean it was the wrong decision.

Ah me arse. Look at Pukki yesterday. Can anyone actually see where he was offside even with all the lines cause i couldn't. Now we have got to the point where its almost is there any reason i can't award the goal. Gimme me back a dodgy linesman/woman decision anyday. Fcuk this sh*te.

Didn't see the Pukki incident so can't comment. Not saying the decision today wasn't extremely harsh because it was. But it was clear that part of his body was offside.

Too close to call, equals advantage to the attacking team, equals a goal, was one of the best rules they brought in.

Losing that is the worst thing about VAR.

An offside should be clear. Get rid of all the lines. If you have to draw lines, let it go.

Nothing in that and no doubt it's extremely harsh on Norwich.

Well...... could be just my anti scouse bias, but I'm harking back to that City game, there was the penalty incident and the goal score after it....and Salah clear offside for their second goal (even by todays standard no lines even need to be drawn) that one wasn't even checked by VAR if my memories correct

Seriously though if VAR was around five years ago when Gerrard slipped, Liverpool would have won the league.
FACT.

So anytime a hand is used and a goal is scored it is to be disallowed the rule was? We’ve seen it this season so far with players handling the ball and then setting up goals which were disallowed.

Van Dijk handled it, then passed it to Lallana who then “passed” it to Mane who scored

Can anyone please explain

How have we got to a point now when a goal is scored that were looking for reasons to rule it out rather than award it. We have gone down a wrong road somewhere and theres no turning back.

You're right. When football moves forward, there's no turning back.

There's your problem in a nutshell. A camera is not biased, and can't be conned. It provides the VAR, (and the ref should he decide to inform himself by looking at the monitor) with all the evidence he needs to implement the laws of the game and make the correct decision.

Fine. Van Dijk did not handle the ball, Lallana did not handle the ball, Mane was not offside. Therefore the goal was the correct decision.

VAR use different angles and have even thinner lines available than what we see on tv. They are calibrated, so if you're off, you're off. It's like being caught doing 31kph in a 30kph zone. You're still caught. And there's no point arguing that it's not dangerous. If it says 31, you face the consequences.

VAR implements the law as it stands, not as people want it to be. There's no way around it. If you want to change the law, then fine change the law. But that just means putting the line somewhere else, and you will still have nerds protesting about frame rates. The line has to be drawn somewhere, and if you're caught beyond it, then you have gained an advantage and your goal will not stand. That is the law and it will be enforced from now on.
VAR: Cutting the crap out of football.
