Half an hour away.
And what an opening tie we have. Mark "Geezer" McGeeney taking on Wolfie in the very first match. It's like Brazil playing Germany in the first match of the World Cup. Today is the greatest day in the sporting year. |

The last ever lakeside. Has run it's course. Pdc winner gets 500,000 next year. Some money.

What a start to the tournament with Mark McGeeney edging out Wolfie in a deciding leg in a match of the very highest quality.
We couldn't have wished for a more exciting gala opening match, and this Willem Mandigers-Nick Kenny clash up now is exceptionally good too.

I see Darious Labanauskas who new pdc champion Rob Cross up a stick a couple of years back is out in the first round.
The going is a bit tougher when you stay amongst the big boys. Proud moment for Turkish darts here with Umit Uygonsozlu starting very well against the highly rated Chris Harris. He'll be hoping to hit a few Istan-bullseyes.

Sounds like the dartboard is made out of cardboard every time a dart goes in.

Cork is too thick for the magnets to work so it has to be cardboard.
Without the magnets, they'd be lucky to hit the board. |
