English football's governing body will adopt its own version of the 'Rooney Rule' implemented in the NFL in 2003.

Just pick the best people regardless.
Spot on hence John Barnes is out of work.

But how do you know you're getting the best person if you don't consider all the available pool of talent?

Most managers are former footballers. At least 25% of footballers, in England at least, are BAME, yet only something like 3% are managers.

So unless you consider BAME candidates to be in some way less capable of being managers than their white counterparts, then the game is only considering 75% of potential recruits.

And in any case, the Rooney Rule is not saying that Chairmen must appoint BAME managers, merely that they should interview i.e. consider, one BAME candidate on each shortlist, so that if a white interviewee comes out best, he gets the job.

Brighton boss Chris Hughton says the Football Association's decision to interview at least one applicant from a black, Asian and minority ethnic background for future roles in the England set-up is "very promising".

Research conducted in November showed only 22 of 482 coaching roles across England's top four leagues were filled by people from BAME backgrounds.

Eastern European men are neanderthals.  Ivan Drago isn't far off the mark. Actually he is a bit too smart to be Russian.

He seemed to just hold his nose to imitate that Bongs breath smelt

Never liked seeing that sort of behaviour, Lennon and Brown have done it before, but it isn’t racist.

English FA launching an investigation into it after Bong has complained to ref Martin Atkinson after the final whistle.

It's the sorta thing a child would do. Always thought the lads who did it on a pitch looked like complete simpletons.

Have seen boxers do it before at weigh-ins. James de Gale did it to George Groves. Was that racist? No. Rodriguez's wasn't either. Coincidentally, Carl Froch did the same to Groves during stare downs, etc. Maybe Groves just stinks.

De Gale and Froch two the biggest w**kers in boxing. Not surprised they did it, probably think it's extremely clever.

Jay Rodriguez is consulting with lawyers as he considers how best to clear his name, after he was accused of making racist comments on the pitch.

His agent, Gary Mellor ssaid :-

"We're disgusted that Bong would make such groundless and serious allegations against Jay on social media and French television. And together with Jay, we are adamant we will do everything to protect his reputation.

"I am both an agent and a lawyer, so I know very well what effect accusations of this kind can cause. It's unacceptable."
