But the point is that those players are generally loved by their own fans. What we need is players who even their own fans can barely stand.

Like I imagine Sergio Biscuits is loved by Barcelona fans. What players are there who are hated even by their own fans?

GD already mentioned him but given the above and I'm an actual Newcastle fan (Out of the closet anyway)

Jonjo Shelvey- A good player when he wants to be but doesn't do it enough and is so much of a liability.

Jack Colback another was welcomed at first with opens arms after leaving Sunderland and declaring his love for Newcastle but eventually found out as the sh*t player he is.

Apart from Burnley, Joey Barton must be close to SD's example, although I loved him at Rangers.

Actually liked Barton while at Newcastle seemed to be only player who actually gave a sh*t at one point. albeit he got himself stupidly sent off on numerous occasions

Vinnie Jones, Ashley Cole, John Terry, Carlos Tevez, Ben Thatcher, Matterazi, Anelka, Adebayor.

Someone will probably have an argument for most of those but they're fairly universally disliked.

I always liked Tevez, Terry is a divisive figure in England but is adored by Chelsea fans. Pepe, I suspect, is also loved by fans of his club and country.

Adebayor surely.

A money hungry, lazy footballer.

Nigel de Jong maybe (after 2010 World cup)

Lee Bowyer.

I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.

John Fashanu.  A scumbag of the highest order.  If you ever want to see how bad this coont was and still is just watch the BT Sport documentary on Wimbledon road to the 1988 FA Cup.

What all did Awooga get up to?

Purposely ended peoples careers.  Had this 'top boy' mindset and literally assaulted any teammate who dared question him. He once locked one unnamed teammate in the training ground dressing room and beat the sh*t out of him. He and Jones and Wally Downes bullied John Scales and Terry Phelan almost to the point of giving up football.  John Scales despises him as does Lawrie Sanchez.  They tied one new player to the roof of a car and went flying down the motorway which could have killed him.
Fashanu is interviewed in the documentary now and he is just a scummy scummy piece of sh*t and that's being kind to him.
