No idea on what basis it's done, but this list has Travers #39, Kelleher #55 and Bazunu #157.

The fact that Kamil Grabara is number 9 on that list and he is the same age as Kelleher but was disposed of by Liverpool so that they could hold onto Kelleher and make him number 2 might imply that, at least in Klopp's view, Kelleher is better. Klopp being one of the best coaches in the world would lead me to side with him.

Also,  if Liverpool didn't fancy Kelleher as number 2 or if they wanted to sign a better prospect around the same age then I'm sure some of the options on there would be affordable for them. Vorskla Poltava, Viitorul etc.

The fact that Bazunu is #157 on the list tells me all I need to know - i.e that it's a complete load of b*ll*x.

Liverpool win tonight they already have the group topped. May see Kelleher get a run out in a game or two. Would be absolutely no harm whatsoever.

Cognitive bias is a funny thing. The green tinted glasses can be worn now and then by Irish fans. However, I don't think it's fair to say that Kelleher is over-rated. And a wild stab at providing something to support the green tinted glasses accusation should probably leverage something better than that list, as a couple of quick fact checks are showing.

Planning, parking the Bazunu v Kelleher debate for a moment, I take it you accept that clean sheets can be explained away quite easily, and a keeper may perform much better in a 2-1 win, than in a 5-0 win, if they had loads to do in one goal game, and were virtual bystanders in the five goal game.

The data tells you what it tells you. It doesn't account for quality of matches or strength of the opposition. Kelleher wasn't injured for the trip to Andorra, or Portugal, or for the Serbia and Azerbaijan games. In those games, Bazunu conceded 5 times, and the campaign has ended up as it has.

Bazunu is a quality keeper, but nobody can dispute that Kelleher is a better keeper playing at a higher level of football, doesn't concede many goals, and has done absolutely nothing to be dropped, apart from get injured at the wrong time.

If he scores in every game, he should play over someone who doesn't.

Bazunu two clean sheets in proper games, making good saves in both matches
Neither eclipses Kellehers clean sheet against Qatar though

We've 3 keepers in the squad who will be PL regulars in 3 years. However I think Baz literally has no ceiling. His potential is outrageous

Agreed. See serious star quality and attitude that the other 2 don’t have. This lad is going to be our best ever goalie imo. No pressure Embarrassed

Needs to get his arse out of Liverpool (barring Allison leaving and Klopp making him No.1 )otherwise he can kiss goodbye to the No.1 jersey for us. Baz has made it his own for the moment

Allison starting tonight and he’s on the bench. Disappointing since it’s a dead rubber.

Of the three goalkeepers looking to take the ireland number 1 jersey, he's the oldest and the one furthest away from it at the moment.

You're right.  He's so close yet so far. If Alisson got an injury and was ruled out for the rest of the season then the noise would start in March and June about Kelleher, Liverpool keeper, needing to start. As it is, the lack of games is just killing him.
