planning either has a very unusual disdain for Gavin Bazunu or a major horn for Kelleher. It has to be tongue in cheek

It's common sense. Kelleher has kept clean sheets on his senior international debut and his full international debut, to go along with clean sheets on his EPL debut, European Cup debut and League Cup debut. So when you have to choose between a keeper who keeps clean sheets for you or one who can't, the decision should be straight forward. It's the same for forwards. If he scores in every game, he should play over someone who doesn't.

Planning, parking the Bazunu v Kelleher debate for a moment, I take it you accept that clean sheets can be explained away quite easily, and a keeper may perform much better in a 2-1 win, than in a 5-0 win, if they had loads to do in one goal game, and were virtual bystanders in the five goal game.

By your logic he should be Liverpool number 1. He's isn't. Because your logic is is ridiculous

I think he just makes an argument, as to why one keeper is better than the other, using the same logic and reasoning as a young kid would.

Either that or he's on the wind up.

James Collins has two for us. I don't think anyone in their right mind would have him starting over Connolly or Idah.

The data tells you what it tells you. It doesn't account for quality of matches or strength of the opposition. Kelleher wasn't injured for the trip to Andorra, or Portugal, or for the Serbia and Azerbaijan games. In those games, Bazunu conceded 5 times, and the campaign has ended up as it has.

Bazunu is a quality keeper, but nobody can dispute that Kelleher is a better keeper playing at a higher level of football, doesn't concede many goals, and has done absolutely nothing to be dropped, apart from get injured at the wrong time.

Imagine keeping a clean sheet at home to Qatar but being unable to keep one away to Portugal, despite saving a Ronaldo penalty.

Kelleher's ability to go week after week with clean-sheets may be related to him sitting on the bench all the time.
Hard to concede from there.

Kelleher conceded ten goals in the space of two cup games not that long ago, and has had one or two scares in admittedly good performances in more important competitions in the interim.

I don't see that he should be ahead of Bazunu by any means. If he pushed for a loan it would be a different conversation.

It's just a pity Travers was played against Serbia because I think with either of the other two we could've pushed for at least a point, and the group would've had a different complexion by now.

The data can be misleading? Joe Hart has an incredibly high number if clean sheets. But that hasn’t been factored in by Southgate, neither was it when not only he dropped him from the Number 1 shirt, he didn’t even take him to the 2018 WC and there has been a clear decline since Euro 2016

Would it be a fair comment that there are Liverpool fans on here who are very pissed off with Kenny for picking Bazunu over Kelleher.... I wonder are some of the anti-Kenny crew coming at things with red tinted glasses as someone put it earlier?

The thought of that even been remotely possible sickens my stomach.

In which case, Klopp's comments after the Norwich game will just stoke the fire.
