Can any YBIG reps that meet up with the FAI discuss the pre match carry on in the Aviva? There's no need for the lad on the mic to be rambling on for five minutes about Boyne Valley's result against Balbriggan at the weekend. He should be used to only announce the teams.. nothing more than that.

Can we also put an end to the minute silence for Fran Gavin's neighbours son in laws dog that got knocked down by a motorbike on the Naas Road.

  • No PA man rambling on
  • No minute silence

Thought the Welsh did it right last week. If there are people from the football family who the FAI want to be remembered, it should be done at half time, rather than before kick off (if at all, that is).

We just dilute the atmosphere with the lad on the PA system saying "Welcome to the Aviva Stadium for the Three Republic of Ireland  crucial game in this World Cup Qualifier. Lets give a round of applause for the away fans" at least 87 times.

Agreed! There was a lot to learn from the Welsh anthem last week.

Spine tingling stuff
"Here's Robbie Keane...... yeeeessss! That is no more than Ireland deserve!"

Couldn't agree more. You would swear the lad is paid per sentence at the rate he rambles on. So unnecessary and does take away from the atmosphere. I imagine the issue has been raised in the past but he still persists with it.

We'll need a lot more effort than one bald fella and his guitar getting f**k all reaction from the crowd

Lights off. Luke Kellys version of 'The Aul Triangle' just before teams come out.
The haunting sounds of his magnificnet voice booming out, and the crowd all joining in the for the loud chorus.

Unless aul Luke says the word "Three" in it at least 3 times then it's not gonna happen

At the very least turn off all music 10-15 minutes before kick off. Impossible to get an atmosphere going pre game because of the advertisements and bald fella belting out ballads to a deafening level

We usually get to the stadium in good time to soak up the build up and get a sneaky pint if possible. After the last few build ups though I think we are going to try get to the stadium at about 7:40pm to miss it because it is absolute sh*te.
Walters coming back from an offside position but Shane Long was definitely onside- Shane Lonnggggggg.... has done it!!!!

What are the fans doing in terms of a display?

Would it possible to get a large tri colour created in the entire Landsdowne Road side?

If the crowd is up for it, the fella on the mic will be drowned out.

Flares are banned, are smoke bombs? What about tickatape? Bags of shredded paper thrown from the upper tiers. Till rolls from cash registers. Lets try and recreate Argentina 78. Hopefully it's a windy night to blow it around.

Everybody do there bit.

Some kind of display in the south stand and east stand as the players come out would be decent

The minute's silence should definitely be scrapped. I think we must be the only country in the entire world to hold such a thing before every game.
