Definitely seems a lot cheaper than Copenhagen was, anyway.

Looks like the best option to go to. As mentioned earlier comes highly recommended

Oddly really looking forward to this trip even after having to witness the other nations league games

We are irish, do they understand what this implies

Yeah i was thinking that myself LOL At least they're accommodating a late opening

Hopefully, presume they dont care if you take whatever seat is on your ticket. If it's anything to go by here people seem to go mad if your in their seat

Confused I would imagine if the seat is reserved it will say on the display like most modern railways not sure why you would ignore it

Ah yeah because arguing with Danish aul ones and train conductors in a language you don't speak then being thrown out of your seat and sent to sit in the toilet cubicle is great craic. F**k me, just book a seat. It only costs €4 and there's no reason why you couldn't coordinate on here to make sure you all had seats in the same carriage.

Wanderer, I think the point the lads are making is that there will be other people on the train who have likely booked their seats in anticipation of sitting where they booked, ie there will be more than just a load of Paddys with bags of cans going to a match. As SD says, coordinate if you want and books your seats together, but sit where your allocated and respect others. Its not an away end free for all.

I get that completely. Unfortunately the train site doesn't let you pick your seat to co-ordinate which is why i brought it up, I've already booked a seat anyway. Forget that I even mentioned it.

You can select seats if you book on dsb.dk and pick your own seat for about €4.

That wasn't available when i booked anyway. I booked from Deutsche Bahn which allocated a seat based on any preference you had, i.e window seat etc.

Cheers for the info

Yeah, DB don't allow you to pick for that train but DSB do. The train is run by the Danes rather than the Germans, hence why they allow you to select the seats and the Germans don't. I think when you want to book one with DB, they send a request to DSB who reply with the seat details that are requested, rather than sharing live details of what is and is not reserved. There are a few others that work that way and I assume that is similar - it's the same when you book Eurostar tickets through DB and I know that is how that system works. It's a bit of a pain in the hole but there's little enough you can do about it.

You can book it separately now, if you want. If you want to pick your seat, use dsb.dk.

When you search, click "0 adults" and "1 seat reservation".

You might not be able to book Hamburg to Aarhus on dsb.dk but you should be able to book Flensburg to Aarhus (which is most of the journey anyway).

If you don't mind too much about picking your seat but want one for the whole journey, just use bahn.com, and click "seat only (no ticket)" on the homepage then search for the same train and book a reservation for like €4.50
