Because that is how your posts have come across. You seemed touchy and sensitive on the matter, if you aren't, then I apologise; but writing "stay classy", when nothing classless was posted, at least not by me, just reinforced that view. I am sorry you had a bad experience, but I have never been to a football match as an away fan without getting a little bit of sl*gging, be that Ireland away in Denmark or Cork City away in Athlone. |

I wish they would leave out the sectarian chanting with the singing. In the dubliner as well the night before. Shouting support for a terrorist organization has no place in Irish football.

Me neither and no issue with it for the most part and happy to give it out! Just this time was more threatening and not good natured, again we obviously just weren't in the right places as most were fine. I'll leave it here, I've a hangover to tend to!

Honestly don't think I heard much of it while at the match. Maybe one or two lads were adding in those parts but I couldn't say for certain. Only stopped in the Dubliner for one pint so can't comment on what was sang in there.

There is obviously an argument that IRA songs and chants have no place at a football game, but they are not sectarian. Not in themselves anyway. There is plenty reason not to like them, sectarianism is not one of them. The lack of understanding of what sectarianism is, despite it being a word that everybody in Ireland is familiar with it, always amazes me.

No in fairness it wasn’t bad and isolated enough usually by younger fans.

Few lads outside the Old Irish Bar getting Danish fans to chant 'Ooh, Aah, Up the RA' on Friday afternoon. It was going on on Thursday night as well. It's definitely crept back in and is tedious beyond belief. No different to the English giving it anti IRA stuff or 12 German bombers.

The same people were singing 'You'll never walk alone' when it was played on the radio.

Grace is catching on now. Was sang a good few times during the trip. I think it's a quality song.
I also saw a few old £20 notes with John Delaney superimposed on them floating around. |

The Danes are an arrogant bunch alright - sense of superiority from them big time. Was chatting to one of their regular supporters on the way into the ground who seems to do all aways and was in Russia and was just Laughing at me asking us why we are so sh*t - best form of defence was attack back though. Same vibes for the last fixture in Copenhagen and Aarhus although slightly friendlier in Aarhus.
Anyway hope we never draw them again

Very enjoyable trip, international football in June is the way its meant to be, weather make it a completly different experience.
The second half of the England/Dutch game on the Thursday was a lovely warmup. Setup around the stadium was perfect, views inside were second to none. The steepness of the stands are what we'd all love from the Aviva. Few comments from the Danes pregame were tongue in cheek I felt "this will be zero zero again ya, ha, ha ha". Postgame, they seemed fairly humble. Prices around the city were very mixed, once you kept to the local things you couldn't go too wrong, fancy craft stuff were the only ones we were stung for 50K+ First away since Austria, definitely looking to get to Switzerland now.
